Layer Details
- Cover. A soft blend of wool and viscose that is fire resistant and chemical free. That means no chemical fire retardant treatments against your skin.
- Comfort layer. Traceable British wool forms the soft cushioning layer. Wool naturally regulates temperature, which means less overheating on warm nights.
- Interior blend. A blend of cotton, hemp and flax sits within the interior. These natural fibres add breathable padding between you and the springs.
- Support system. 2500 high density pocket springs, each 100% glue free and encased in its own fabric pocket, including award winning Advanced Cortec pocket springs. Individual pockets mean each spring moves independently, so you feel less of your partner's movement.
Layer details from mattressonline.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- 90cm each, every night: Two people sharing get 90cm apiece, which means a restless partner's tossing happens far enough away to sleep through.
- 2500 glue free springs across a wider bed: Each spring sits in its own fabric pocket, so movement on one side of this 180cm width barely registers on the other.
- Space for midnight visitors: When a child pads in at 3am, or the dog claims the foot of the bed, everyone still keeps a workable share of the mattress.
- Wool and natural fibres, no clammy corners: Traceable British wool with cotton, hemp and flax breathes well, useful when three bodies rather than two are warming the bed.
- Standard depth, easier bedding: At 22cm deep, standard super king fitted sheets should stretch over it without a fight.
- Fills a large master properly: In a period property or big new build main bedroom, this 6ft x 6ft 6in footprint looks in proportion where a UK king can seem lost.
This size suits you if...
You share every night and want the maximum mainstream sleeping space, your children or pets treat your bed as communal territory, or one of you moves constantly and distance matters more than any comfort layer. It also suits you if your master bedroom is large enough that a UK king would look undersized, provided you can allow at least 3m x 2.9m of floor space.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 3m x 2.9m we suggest, or you'd rarely use the extra width. The UK king would suit you better: it's 30cm narrower, the same length, and needs a smaller room at 2.7m x 2.9m.

What room size do I need for the Collingham 3250 in a super king?
We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m for a UK super king, and that's a minimum rather than a comfortable fit. A room around 3.5m x 3.2m gives you bedside tables on both sides and space to walk around the bed. Measure the door swing too; at 180cm wide, this size dominates a smaller room.
Is the Collingham 3250 super king good for couples with a restless partner?
It's one of the better cases for the size. The 2500 pocket springs are glue free and move independently, which already softens motion transfer, and the 90cm each of a UK super king adds physical distance on top. If one of you fidgets or keeps different hours, the combination makes disturbance much easier to ignore.
Is a super king big enough for sharing with children or pets?
Usually, yes. At 180cm across, two adults and a wandering child can each keep a reasonable share, and a large dog at the foot of the bed doesn't force anyone to the edge. The wool, cotton, hemp and flax fillings breathe well, which helps when extra bodies push the temperature up on warm nights.
How much bigger is the super king Collingham 3250 than the king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two are the same length at 200cm. That extra width goes straight into personal space: 90cm each rather than sharing 150cm. If your room can take it, the difference is noticeable every night; if it can't, the UK king is the sensible fall back.
Will the Collingham 3250 super king fit up my stairs?
It needs thought. This is a traditional pocket spring mattress with natural fillings, so it arrives full size rather than rolled, and a 180 x 200cm mattress is awkward on tight landings and turns. Harrison Spinks doesn't publish a weight for this size, so measure your stairwell and doorways before ordering, and plan on two people carrying it.
