Mohair
Soft mohair sits near the sleep surface, which means a luxurious feel underneath you. It also helps regulate temperature through the night.
Wool
Naturally insulating British wool keeps you warm in winter. It's a traditional filling for good reason.
Cotton
Breathable cotton draws heat away in summer. Paired with the wool, it means the mattress adapts across the seasons rather than trapping warmth.
Hemp and Flax
Hemp and flax add further natural loft alongside the mohair, cotton and wool. These plant fibres round out an entirely natural filling stack.
Pocket Springs
10,590 responsive springs form the support core, combining high-density micro, Posturfil and Cortec pocket springs. Each spring moves independently, which means support that follows your shape and less disturbance from a restless partner.

- The classic couples' footprint: At 135cm wide, the UK double gives two sharers 67.5cm each, enough for most couples without the bed dominating the room.
- Room for bedside tables on both sides: In an average UK bedroom, a double usually leaves space for a table each side, which a UK king often squeezes out.
- Less partner disturbance at this width: With 67.5cm each, you will feel your partner's movement less than you might expect, because the pocket springs move independently rather than as one surface.
- Natural temperature control for two: Two bodies generate more heat than one, and the wool, cotton and mohair fillings breathe rather than trap warmth the way foam can.
- Bedding is easy to find: Double sheets and a 200 x 200cm double duvet are stocked everywhere, so dressing this size costs less effort than the larger options.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and your room sits around the typical UK size, where a UK king would leave little walking space. It also suits you if you want bedside tables on both sides without crowding the walls, or you sleep alone and want generous spreading room, perhaps with a dog or cat claiming a corner.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner both like space and your room comfortably exceeds 2.7m x 2.9m. We'd recommend the UK king instead: it's 15cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double, a real difference for two adults.

Is the Harrison Spinks Conrad in a UK double big enough for a couple?
For most couples, yes. The UK double gives 67.5cm each for two people sharing, and the Conrad's independently moving pocket springs mean a restless partner disturbs you less than the width alone suggests. Taller or broader couples with a bigger room may prefer the UK king, which is 15cm wider and 10cm longer.
What room size do I need for the Conrad UK double?
We suggest allowing at least 2.6m x 2.8m, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm. That gives you space to walk around the bed and, in most rooms, fit bedside tables on both sides. These are our recommendations rather than the manufacturer's, so measure your own layout before ordering.
Will a UK double Conrad fit up the stairs in an older house?
It's a sprung mattress with natural fillings, so it won't roll or fold like foam. At 135 x 190cm and 29cm deep, it needs careful handling on turning stairs in older terraces or tight new build landings. Measure your stairwell and doorways first, and check the retailer's delivery access guidance before buying.
Should I get the Conrad in a double or a king?
It comes down to your room. The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king, and fits comfortably where a king would dominate. If your bedroom offers at least 2.7m x 2.9m and you both value space, the UK king is the better long-term choice; otherwise the UK double is the sensible fit.
What bedding fits the Conrad in a UK double?
Standard double sheets and a 200 x 200cm double duvet. Because the Conrad is 29cm deep, choose fitted sheets with a deep enough pocket, ideally labelled for extra-deep mattresses, or they will ping off the corners. Beyond that, double bedding is the most widely stocked size in the UK, at every price point.
