Cover
A breathable Belgian damask fabric cover. It lets air move through the surface, which helps keep the sleeping temperature steady.
Comfort Fillings
Layers of wool, Ecotex fibres, hemp and sustainably sourced cotton. These natural fillings provide comfort and breathability, which means less heat build-up than synthetic foams.
Cortec Pocket Springs
A generous layer of Cortec pocket springs made without glue, each working independently. In practice, the springs adapt to your body's movements for tailored support.
Micro Posture Springs
A layer of small springs that contour to the body in the way foam does. They add a comfort layer that adapts as you move, softening the surface of an otherwise firm mattress.
Layer details from mattressnextday.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- 90cm each, so movement stays on their side: The glue-free Cortec pocket springs respond individually, and at 90cm each for two people sharing, a restless partner's turning barely reaches you.
- Space for the whole household: When children or a large dog treat your bed as theirs, 180cm of width means everyone still gets a fair share of a firm, supportive surface.
- 30cm wider than the UK king: The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king and the same length, which is the difference between sharing a bed and forgetting you are.
- Natural fillings across a bigger surface: Wool, hemp and cotton breathe well, useful when three bodies rather than two are warming the same mattress on a Sunday morning.
- Suits a larger master bedroom: In a period property or generous new build master, a UK king can look undersized; this fills the room properly, provided you allow at least 3m x 2.9m.
This size suits you if...
You share every night and want the most sleeping space a standard UK size offers, your partner is genuinely restless and distance matters more than any comfort layer, or children and pets regularly join you and you would all still like room to lie flat. Your bedroom should measure at least 3m x 2.9m, and ideally more, for the bed to work in the space.
Consider another size if...
Your room is under our suggested 3m x 2.9m minimum, or a bed this wide would crowd wardrobes and door swing. We'd recommend the UK king instead: it is 30cm narrower, the same length, and needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Will the Ely Ortho 2750 super king fit up my stairs?
It needs thought. This mattress arrives flat rather than rolled, and a 180 x 200cm firm sprung mattress does not bend around tight landings the way a boxed foam one might. Measure your stairwell, landing turns and door swing before ordering, and plan for two people to carry it.
How much space do two people get on the super king Ely Ortho?
90cm each for two people sharing, and because the Cortec pocket springs work independently with no glue between them, your partner's movements stay largely on their half. If children wander in during the night, that width means an extra small body rarely pushes anyone to the edge.
What room size do I need for a super king Ely Ortho 2750?
We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m, with around 3.5m x 3.2m feeling more comfortable once you add bedside tables on both sides and space to walk around. This is our own guidance rather than the manufacturer's. In a loft conversion, check the ceiling slope leaves headroom on both sides too.
Is the super king worth it over the king for this mattress?
If your room takes it, usually yes. The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king and the same length, so you gain sharing space without needing a longer room. For a restless partner or a bed the dog considers his, that extra width does more than any filling could.
Where can I buy the Ely Ortho 2750 in a super king?
Availability shifts, so the most reliable answer is the live comparison table on this page, which is updated as retailers change their prices and stock. Check the size name carefully at checkout: at 180 x 200cm, a super king is easy to confuse with an EU size that will not fit your base.
