Layer Details
- Wool comfort layer. Soft, springy British wool sits at the surface and moulds around your body shape. It's naturally breathable yet insulating, which means it helps regulate temperature through the seasons.
- Cotton, hemp and flax blend. Further layers of cotton and wool blended with hemp and flax fibres improve airflow within the mattress. These fibres also wick away moisture, useful if you tend to sleep warm.
- Mini pocket springs. A layer of 14000 mini springs contours to your body for personalised comfort. Because each spring moves independently, there's room for air to circulate too.
- Cortec Quad Revolution pocket springs. An award-winning layer of 1000 springs with a dual design, each in its own pocket and secured into groups of four. They're highly flexible, adjusting to your movement and weight through the night.
- Posturfil springs. A base layer of 1500 Posturfil springs, flexible and adaptable. They sense movement to keep support consistent as you shift position.

- 75cm each for two sharing: Each of you gets 75cm of width, which means you can stretch out or shift position without negotiating for territory.
- Less disturbance across the bed: The 14000 mini springs move independently, so with 150cm of width between you, one partner getting up early transfers little movement across the mattress.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: At 200cm long, the UK king adds 10cm over the UK double, a genuine relief if either of you is approaching six foot.
- Natural fibres suit shared warmth: Two bodies generate more heat than one, and the wool, hemp and flax layers breathe well, which helps a shared bed stay comfortable.
- Room for the third occupant: If a dog treats the foot of the bed as its own, the extra width means it can settle in without pushing either of you to the edge.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a UK double has started to feel cramped, especially on a soft to medium surface where you both settle into your own spot. Or one of you is up hours before the other and you want movement kept to their side of the bed. Or someone in the bed is tall enough that 190cm mattresses leave feet hanging off the end.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest as a minimum for a UK king. The UK double would suit you better; it's 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter, and we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for it.

Is a UK king Palladium 16500 big enough for a couple?
Comfortably, for most. At 150cm wide you each get 75cm, and because the mini spring surface contours to each body separately, you both settle into your own area rather than rolling together. If one of you is notably broad-shouldered or you like a real gap between you, the UK super king is 30cm wider.
Will the king size Palladium 16500 suit a tall sleeper?
This is one of the better sizes for height. The UK king is 200cm long, 10cm more than the UK single, small double and double, so anyone approaching or over six foot gets proper clearance at the head and foot. The UK super king is the same length, so sizing up buys width, never extra length.
What room size do I need for the Palladium 16500 in a UK king?
We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m, which is our own guidance rather than the manufacturer's. That allows walking space on both sides and room for bedside tables. If your room is tighter, the UK double needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m by our reckoning and still sleeps two.
Does a king size reduce partner disturbance on this mattress?
It helps in two ways. The Palladium 16500's pocket springs already isolate movement, since each spring compresses independently. Add 150cm of width and the person getting up at 5am is simply further from you. On a softer-feeling mattress like this, that distance matters, because you're less likely to feel any dip from their side.
Should I choose a UK king or super king in the Palladium 16500?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king and the same length, and we suggest at least 3m x 2.9m of room for it. If your bedroom can take it and you want maximum separation, size up. For most couples, the UK king balances space against room demands, and the prices shown on this page update as retailers change them.
