Wool
Soft, springy British wool moulds around your body shape, which means the surface adapts to you rather than pushing back. It's naturally breathable yet insulating, so it helps regulate temperature across the seasons.
Cotton, Wool, Hemp and Flax blend
Additional layers of cotton and wool blended with hemp and flax fibres improve airflow within the mattress. They also wick away moisture, keeping the sleep surface drier and fresher.
Mini Pocket Springs
A layer of 14000 mini springs contours to your body for personalised comfort. Because they're springs rather than foam, air can still move through the layer.
Posturfil Springs
These 1500 Posturfil springs are highly flexible and adaptable, sensing movement as you shift position. In practice that means the mattress responds to you through the night rather than leaving you to settle into one spot.
Cortec Quad Revolution Pocket Springs
The base layer uses 1000 award-winning Cortec Quad Revolution pocket springs, a dual design with mini springs placed inside regular springs. Each sits in an individual pocket, secured in groups of four, which means support stays localised to where your body needs it.
Layer details from mattressonline.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Less partner disturbance: The pocket springs keep support localised, which means one of you getting up at 5am is less likely to wake the other across a 150cm width.
- Room to sink in side by side: A soft to medium feel invites you to settle into the surface, and 75cm each for two people sharing means you can do that without colliding.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, a genuine relief if one of you is over six foot.
- Breathable across a shared bed: Wool, cotton, hemp and flax fillings wick moisture and let air move, which helps when two bodies are warming the same mattress all night.
- Fits most master bedrooms: We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, comfortably achievable in most UK master bedrooms without crowding the wardrobes.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel cramped, particularly with a softer mattress where you both settle into your own spot. It also suits couples on different schedules who want movement in the small hours to go unnoticed, and anyone approaching six foot who needs the 200cm length rather than more width.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king, or you sleep alone. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m and keeps the same 200cm length in this size chart's shorter 190cm format.

Is a UK king big enough for a couple on the Palladium 16500?
Yes, comfortably for most couples. You get 75cm each for two people sharing, and the pocket spring construction keeps support localised, so a partner shifting position or leaving early disturbs you less. If one of you spreads out, or a dog claims the foot of the bed most nights, the UK super king adds another 30cm of width.
Will the king size Palladium 16500 suit a tall sleeper?
At 200cm long, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK single, small double and double, which makes a real difference if you or your partner is approaching or over six foot. Feet stay on the mattress rather than at the edge, and on a soft to medium surface that full-length support is noticeable.
What room size do I need for a king size Palladium 16500?
We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, with more space feeling comfortable once wardrobes and bedside tables are in. New build master bedrooms can be tighter than they first appear, so measure with your furniture in place. If the room is smaller, the UK double needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.
Does the soft to medium feel change in the king size?
No. The feel, fillings and three spring systems are identical in every size. What changes is how the softness works for two people: with 75cm each, you can both settle into the surface without rolling towards one another, something a narrower double makes harder on a softer mattress like this.
