- Cover. A wool-blend cover woven in-house by Harrison Spinks, fire-retardant without any chemical treatments. That's reassuring if you're sensitive to chemical smells or simply prefer natural materials next to you.
- Fillings. Naturally cooling and moisture-wicking fillings, including responsibly sourced, fully traceable British wool plus hemp and flax grown on the Harrison Spinks farm. In practice this means better temperature regulation than foam, which tends to hold heat.
- Micro springs. A layer of 2,500 high-density micro springs sits above the main springs. These respond to smaller pressure points, which you'll feel as a cushioned, contouring surface at your shoulders and hips.
- Pocket springs. The award-winning Advanced Cortec Quad pocket spring system, with 3,250 springs in the king size. Each spring moves independently, so you get support where you need it and less disturbance when your partner turns over.

- 90cm of space each: Two people sharing get 90cm apiece, which means a partner who turns over half the night becomes far easier to ignore.
- Two halves, one bed: The zip and link design means the super king arrives as two separate halves, so tight landings and awkward stair turns stop being a problem.
- Different tensions, same bed: Order dual tension and one of you sleeps on medium while the other has firm, with no compromise across the full 180cm width.
- Springs that move independently: The Advanced Cortec Quad pocket springs respond individually, which means less motion carrying across the bed when a child or dog climbs in at 3am.
- Natural fillings that stay cool: British wool, hemp and flax wick moisture and regulate temperature, useful when three bodies end up under one duvet.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the most sleeping space a mainstream UK size offers, you have a genuinely restless partner and have learned that distance solves what firmness cannot, or children and pets regularly join you and everyone still needs their share. Your bedroom should comfortably clear our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m, ideally with room to spare for walking round the bed.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 3m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK super king, or a bed this wide would dominate the room. We'd recommend the UK king instead: it's 30cm narrower, the same length, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.

How big is the Harrison Spinks Pure Response super king?
It measures 180 x 200cm, which is 6ft x 6ft 6in, with a depth of 24cm. Two people sharing get 90cm of width each. It's the largest size this mattress comes in, and the largest size UK retailers stock as standard.
Should I choose the Pure Response in a UK super king or a UK king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king and the two are the same length, so it's purely a question of width and room size. If your bedroom clears 3m x 2.9m and you share with a restless partner, children or a large dog, the extra 30cm is well spent.
Is the super king zip and link the same size as two singles?
Yes in footprint terms: 180cm matches two 90cm singles side by side, which is the arrangement hotel-style zip and link beds are built on. The difference is that these two halves zip together into one bed, with the option of a different tension on each side.
Do the zip and link halves make the super king easier to get upstairs?
Yes, and it's one of the quiet advantages of this design at this size. A one-piece 180cm mattress can defeat a narrow staircase or a tight landing turn, but the Pure Response arrives as two separate halves that zip together once they're in the room.
What size room do I need for the Pure Response super king?
We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m, with something nearer 3.5m x 3.2m feeling more comfortable, allowing space for bedside tables on both sides and room to walk round. That guidance is ours, not the manufacturer's. If your room is smaller, the UK king needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m.
