- Cover. A wool-blend cover woven in-house, fire-retardant without chemical treatments. That matters if you're sensitive to sprays or simply prefer fewer chemicals near your skin.
- Fillings. Responsibly sourced, fully traceable British wool, hemp and flax grown on the Harrison Spinks farm, alongside soft cotton. Natural fibres like these breathe well, which means less overnight heat build-up than foam.
- Micro springs. A layer of 2,500 high-density micro springs sits near the surface for pressure relief and cushioning. You feel this as a gentler, more contouring top layer before the main support kicks in.
- Pocket springs. The award-winning Advanced Cortec pocket spring system uses a spring-within-a-spring design for dynamic support. In practice, the mattress responds gently to light pressure and more firmly as you sink deeper.

- 11,000 springs across the king size: The UK king contains 11,000 springs, which means the support adjusts in tiny increments under each of you rather than in broad zones.
- Room to sleep on different schedules: With 75cm each, one of you can slip out for an early start while the other barely registers the movement.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, a real relief if either of you is approaching six foot.
- Dual tension available in this size: The king can be ordered with medium on one side and firm on the other, so a couple with different preferences stops compromising.
- Natural fillings that breathe across a bigger surface: Wool, hemp, flax and cotton over springs let air move freely, which means less trapped heat when two people share the bed.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel like a negotiation over space, one of you is up hours before the other and movement carries across your current mattress, or either of you is tall enough that a 190cm bed leaves feet at the edge. The dual tension option makes the UK king especially sensible for couples who disagree on firmness.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than our suggested minimum of 2.7m x 2.9m, which is common in newer builds once the wardrobes go in. The UK double still gives couples a proper shared bed, and we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for it.

Can I get the Pure Splendour in dual tension in a UK king?
Yes. The UK king and UK super king are the only sizes Harrison Spinks offers in dual tension, meaning one side can be medium and the other firm. If you and your partner have never agreed on firmness, this is the feature that settles it: each of you gets your own tension on your own side.
How much space does each person get on a king size Pure Splendour?
The UK king gives 75cm each for two people sharing, across a total width of 150cm. Combined with the 11,000 springs in this size, which respond to each sleeper individually, that spacing does a lot to reduce partner disturbance when one of you moves or gets up early.
Is the UK king Pure Splendour long enough for tall sleepers?
At 200cm, or 5ft x 6ft 6in in imperial terms, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double. If either of you is around six foot or taller, that extra length is often the difference between feet on the mattress and feet hanging off it.
What room size do I need for the Pure Splendour in a UK king?
We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, and that is our guidance rather than the manufacturer's. Measure with wardrobes and drawers in place, particularly in a new build master bedroom, which can feel smaller than the floor plan suggests once furniture goes in.
Should I choose the Pure Splendour in a UK king or super king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king and the same length, and both sizes offer dual tension. If your room meets our suggested 3m x 2.9m minimum for the UK super king and you want maximum space, size up. Otherwise the UK king is the more practical fit for most bedrooms.
