- Fits where space is tight: At 90cm wide it leaves floor room for a wardrobe and desk, useful in a child's bedroom where the bed competes with everything else.
- Boxed delivery suits awkward access: The rolled format is easier to carry up a loft staircase or into a room under a sloped ceiling than a rigid mattress.
- Works for two-bed setups: Where siblings share a room, or a guest room is set up as two beds, a pair of UK singles fits with a walkway between.
- Cheap, easy bedding: Standard single sheets and a 135 x 200cm single duvet fit, and both are the most widely stocked and affordable bedding of any size.
- A sensible guest room choice: In a spare room that doubles as an office, a UK single keeps most of the floor usable for a desk the rest of the year.
This size suits you if...
You're buying for a child or teenager, kitting out a guest room or student flat where a frame is already provided, or you sleep alone and want to keep floor space free in a compact room. Allow at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space and it fits comfortably.
Consider another size if...
You're an adult who tends to sprawl, or you share the bed even occasionally. We'd recommend the UK small double instead, which gives you 30cm more width for solo comfort.

Will the Highgrove Regina UK single fit a bunk or mid-sleeper frame?
The width and length match standard UK bunk and mid-sleeper frames, which take 90 x 190cm mattresses. Depth matters too, though: guard rails have a maximum mattress height, and Highgrove doesn't publish a depth for this model. Check the measurement with the retailer against your frame's guard rail limit before ordering.
Is a UK single big enough for an adult?
Yes for one average-sized adult, and it's the standard size in student rooms and first flats where the frame comes with the property. At 90cm wide it's a snug fit if you move around a lot in the night. Restless sleepers with the room for it may prefer the UK small double of this mattress.
How much room do I need for the Highgrove Regina in a UK single?
We suggest allowing at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space, which covers the mattress plus room to walk around and open drawers. That makes it a practical fit under a loft slope or in a box room where a wider size simply wouldn't leave you space to move.
Can two UK singles fit in one shared room?
Usually, yes. Each mattress is 90cm wide, so in most shared children's rooms or twin guest rooms you can place two along opposite walls with a walkway between. Measure your room against two mattress footprints plus the gap you want, and remember our 2.1m x 2.8m guidance applies to a single bed on its own.
Is the boxed single easy to move upstairs?
This is where the rolled format helps. A boxed UK single is one of the lightest, most manageable formats you can buy, so a narrow staircase, a loft conversion or a tight landing is far less of a problem than with a traditional flat mattress. Once unrolled in place, give it time to expand fully.
