- Proper space for two: At 75cm each for two people sharing, you can both change position without a negotiation, which matters most when one of you is a restless sleeper.
- Less partner disturbance: If one of you gets up hours before the other, the extra width means an alarm-clock exit is less likely to drag the other awake.
- Length for taller sleepers: The UK king runs 10cm longer than the UK double, so anyone approaching six foot stops sleeping with their feet at the edge.
- Room for the dog: If a pet on the bed is part of your routine, the UK king absorbs that intrusion far more gracefully than a UK double does.
- Accessible price for the size: The Stratus sits at the affordable end of the memory mattress market, so upgrading to a UK king costs less here than with most rivals.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a UK double has started to feel like a compromise, especially if one of you keeps different hours or is over six foot. It also suits you if your bedroom comfortably clears our suggested minimum of 2.7m x 2.9m and you want the popular upgrade size without moving to super king territory.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under 2.7m x 2.9m, or you sleep alone and the width would go unused. For solo sleepers, the UK double of the Highgrove Stratus would suit you better; for tight rooms, we'd suggest the UK small double.

Is the Highgrove Stratus UK king big enough for two adults?
Yes, comfortably for most couples. At 150 x 200cm you get 75cm of width each, which is enough to turn over or read at different times without disturbing each other. If you regularly share with a child or a large dog as well, the UK super king is the size to consider instead.
How much bigger is the UK king Stratus than the double?
The UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double. The width is a difference you feel every night when sharing, and the extra length is often the deciding factor for anyone approaching six foot, since a UK double stops at 190cm.
Will a UK king mattress fit my bedroom?
We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, with more space feeling noticeably calmer once wardrobes and bedside tables are in. New build master bedrooms can be tighter than they look on the plan, so measure the floor with furniture positions marked before ordering.
Is the UK king Highgrove Stratus long enough for someone over 6ft?
At 200cm, or 5ft x 6ft 6in in imperial, it gives a fair margin for sleepers over six foot. That extra 10cm over the UK double is often the real reason taller people upgrade; the width is welcome, but the length is what stops feet hanging off the end.
Should I pick the UK king or UK super king Stratus?
The UK king is 30cm narrower than the UK super king, and the two are the same length. Choose the UK super king only if your room clears its larger footprint easily; for most couples the UK king is the better balance of space and practicality.
