Layer Details
- 90cm of width each: Two people sharing get 90cm apiece, which means you can both stretch out without negotiating over the middle of the bed.
- Distance beats any comfort layer: If your partner fidgets, extra width does more than any material can, and this is the widest size Highgrove makes the Vernon in.
- Room for night-time visitors: When a child appears at 3am, a 180cm-wide mattress absorbs the extra body without pushing either adult to the edge.
- Wider, but no longer: The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king yet the same 200cm length, so you gain space without needing a longer room.
- Boxed delivery at the biggest size: It arrives rolled and boxed, which means a much easier trip up stairs and around landings than a flat super king mattress would manage.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the most width sold as standard in the UK, your children or a large dog treat your bed as partly theirs, or a restless partner keeps disturbing you and a narrower size hasn't solved it. It also suits a large master bedroom or period property where a UK king would look a little lost.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than the 3m x 2.9m we suggest as a minimum for this size, or the extra width would crowd your wardrobes and door swing. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which keeps the same 200cm length at 150cm wide.

Is the Highgrove Vernon super king big enough for a couple and a child?
Yes, comfortably in most cases. Two adults get 90cm each across the 180cm width, so when a child climbs in there's still a workable share of space for everyone. That's the main reason parents pick this size over a UK king.
How much bigger is the super king Vernon than the UK king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, at 180 x 200cm against 150 x 200cm. The length is identical, so you're adding elbow room rather than needing a longer bed frame or a deeper room.
Will the Highgrove Vernon super king fit on my existing king frame?
No. At 180 x 200cm it needs a UK super king frame or divan base. A UK king frame is 150cm wide, so this mattress would overhang by 30cm. Budget for a new base and super king bedding if you're sizing up.
Can I get the super king up my stairs?
Because it arrives rolled in a box, it's far easier to move than a flat super king mattress, which is the size most likely to jam on a landing turn. It's still the heaviest box in the range, and Highgrove doesn't publish a weight, so plan for two people to carry it.
What room do I need for the Highgrove Vernon super king?
We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m so you can walk around the bed and open wardrobes without shuffling sideways. In a loft conversion, check the sloping ceiling too, since the 180cm width limits which wall the bed can sit against.
