- Microquilted cover. A micro-quilted cover gives the surface a smooth, soft finish. It's the first thing you'll feel when you lie down.
- Soft White Fibres. Soft synthetic fillings sit just beneath the cover, which means a cosy, cushioned initial feel.
- Bamboo Memory Foam. A plush layer of bamboo memory foam moulds around your body. This is where the pressure relief comes from, particularly at the hips and shoulders.
- High density foam. A layer of high density foam adds durable comfort and motion isolation. In practice, that means less disturbance when a partner moves.
- Pocket Springs. 2000 pocket springs, each enclosed in its own fabric pocket, respond individually to your weight. An additional layer of 1000 mini springs brings the total to 3000.
- Reinforced foam border. A thick foam border runs around the edge to stop it sagging. Helpful if you tend to sleep near the side of the bed.

- Shared support that works at this width: With 67.5cm each for two people sharing, the individually pocketed springs respond to each sleeper's weight rather than tilting the whole surface.
- Less disturbance across a narrower bed: At this width you sleep closer together, so the high density foam's motion isolation matters more, meaning a restless partner is less likely to wake you.
- Edge support you'll actually use: On a UK double, one of you often sleeps near the side, and the reinforced foam border is there to stop that edge sagging.
- Fits most UK bedrooms: We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m, which leaves space for a wardrobe and drawers in a typical double bedroom.
- Easy to dress: Standard double sheets and a 200 x 200cm double duvet fit, and both are stocked everywhere at every price point.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed most nights and your bedroom sits around the typical UK size, where a UK king would crowd out the wardrobe or leave no walking room. It also makes sense if you're furnishing a first flat or a whole home and want a proven couples' size, or if you sleep solo and like room to stretch out, perhaps with a dog or cat claiming a corner.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner both want more personal space and your room measures well beyond the minimum. We'd recommend the UK king instead: it's 15cm wider and 10cm longer, and we suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.

Is the Horizon Eclipse 3000 UK double big enough for a couple?
Yes, for most couples. You get 67.5cm each for two people sharing, and the 2000 pocket springs plus 1000 mini springs respond to each of you individually, so different weights don't drag the surface one way. Taller sleepers should note the 190cm length before buying; the UK king is 10cm longer if that's a concern.
What size room do I need for a UK double bed?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for a UK double, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm. That larger figure is what allows bedside tables on both sides plus a wardrobe without the room feeling cramped. Measure with the door swing and any drawers in mind before you order.
Does the Horizon Eclipse 3000 in a double stop me feeling my partner move?
It's designed to. The high density foam layer isolates motion, and the pocket springs move individually rather than as one unit. On a UK double you're never far from each other, so this matters more than it would on a wider bed. Across a 135cm width, that separation of movement is the difference between sharing well and waking often.
Should we buy the Horizon Eclipse 3000 in a UK double or size up?
Choose the UK double if your room is near the 2.6m x 2.8m minimum we suggest, or if you're spreading a budget across a whole home. Size up to the UK king, which is 15cm wider and 10cm shorter in neither direction, sorry, 10cm longer, if you both want more space and your room allows at least 2.7m x 2.9m.
Is a UK double a good choice for a guest room?
It's the safest guest room size. Visiting couples can share it comfortably, solo guests get plenty of space, and double bedding is cheap and easy to find. The medium firm feel is a sensible middle ground for guests whose preferences you don't know, though anyone who loves a soft, sink-in surface may find it a little solid.
