Cover
A 100% cotton ticking cover. Cotton is naturally breathable, which helps moisture escape rather than build up around you overnight.
Fillings
Traceable wool from Woolkeepers farms sits alongside sustainable recycled fibres and polycotton. The wool regulates temperature naturally, the recycled fibres add resilience and support, and the polycotton combines cotton's breathability with polyester's durability.
Springs
ReActive 7-turn pocket springs, 1,200 of them in the king size. Each spring moves independently, which means the mattress promotes spinal alignment and relieves pressure where you need it.
Layer details from furniturevillage.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- 1,200 springs in this size: The UK king version carries 1,200 ReActive 7-turn pocket springs, each moving independently, which means one of you shifting is less likely to wake the other.
- 75cm each, every night: Two people sharing get 75cm of width apiece, so a partner who gets up hours earlier can slip out with less disturbance.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: At 200cm the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, which means anyone nearing six foot stops sleeping with their feet at the edge.
- A firm surface that holds its shape across the width: The firm build keeps you both on your own side rather than rolling towards the middle, helpful on different sleep schedules.
- Natural fillings across a bigger surface: Traceable Woolkeepers wool under the 100% cotton cover regulates temperature naturally, and two people sharing generate more heat than one.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel cramped, if one of you keeps different hours and you want independent springs and enough width to come and go without waking the other, or if either of you is tall enough that the 10cm of extra length over a UK double makes a genuine difference. Allow at least 2.7m x 2.9m of bedroom for this size.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m minimum, or you sleep alone. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m and costs less for the same firm build.

How many springs does the UK king Hypnos Bespoke Quartz have?
The UK king contains 1,200 ReActive 7-turn pocket springs. Spring counts scale with mattress size, so this figure is specific to the king. Each spring compresses independently, which means movement on one side transfers less to the other, a real advantage for couples on different schedules.
Is the Hypnos Bespoke Quartz UK king long enough for someone over 6ft?
At 200cm (the UK king is 5ft x 6ft 6in), it gives you 10cm more length than a UK double. For most people over six foot that is the difference between fitting comfortably and having feet against the footboard. If you also want more width, the UK super king is 30cm wider at the same length.
What room size do I need for the Hypnos Bespoke Quartz in a UK king?
We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m. That leaves room to walk round both sides and open drawers, though a new build master can feel tighter than the plans suggest once wardrobes go in, so measure the usable floor rather than the full room. If space is short, the UK double needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.
Should a couple choose the UK king or the UK super king?
The UK king is 30cm narrower than the UK super king; both are the same length. The king suits most couples and most bedrooms, while the super king earns consideration if a child or dog regularly joins you, or you simply want maximum space and have at least 3m x 2.9m of room.
