Pillow top
A plush Solotex top layer with cushioning fillings of Solotex, Red Tractor-assured wool and polycotton. This is what gives the mattress its soft, enveloping surface feel from the moment you lie down.
Pocket springs
ReActivePro 8-turn pocket springs, 1,600 in the king size, which move independently to follow your body's contours. That promotes spinal alignment and relieves pressure at the hips and shoulders.
Mattress fillings
Solotex, Red Tractor-assured wool, polycotton and dual-density layers beneath the springs. These add depth and structure, contributing to the substantial 31cm profile.

- Room to sleep apart, together: At 75cm each for two people sharing, you can settle into your own space rather than negotiating a shared middle all night.
- Springs that keep movement local: The 1,600 ReActivePro 8-turn pocket springs in the king respond to each body separately, which means an early alarm on one side disturbs the other side less.
- Length for taller sleepers: The UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, so anyone approaching six foot gets their feet on the mattress rather than at its edge.
- A plush surface across the full width: The Solotex and Red Tractor-assured wool pillow top cushions the whole 5ft x 6ft 6in surface, so the softer feel is there wherever you drift in the night.
- Fits most main bedrooms: We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m, which most UK master bedrooms manage even after wardrobes go in.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel like a compromise, especially if one of you is up hours before the other and you want their exit to go unnoticed. It also suits taller sleepers, since the 200cm length is a genuine relief past 6ft, and anyone whose dog has quietly claimed a corner and shows no sign of giving it back.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m minimum, or you sleep alone and don't need this much width. Hypnos lists this mattress in the UK king only, so there's no smaller size of the Topaz to step down to.

How many pocket springs does the Hypnos Bespoke Topaz have in a UK king?
The UK king contains 1,600 ReActivePro 8-turn pocket springs. Each spring compresses independently, so the mattress follows two different body shapes at once rather than tilting towards the heavier sleeper. For couples, that independence is what keeps one person's fidgeting from travelling across the 150cm width to the other side.
Is the Hypnos Bespoke Topaz available in sizes other than a UK king?
No. The Bespoke Topaz Pillowtop is listed in the UK king only, at 150 x 200cm. If you need a UK double, super king or single, you'd have to look at a different Hypnos mattress. For couples the UK king is the size most are shopping for anyway.
Will the Hypnos Bespoke Topaz UK king fit my bedroom?
We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m, and that's our guidance rather than the manufacturer's. It leaves enough clearance to walk round the bed and open drawers. New build master bedrooms often look generous empty but tighten up once wardrobes are in, so measure the usable floor, not the whole room.
Is a UK king Hypnos Topaz good for couples on different schedules?
It's a sensible pick for exactly that. The pocket springs isolate movement, so a 5am start on one side transfers less through the mattress, and with 75cm each for two people sharing, the person leaving isn't clambering over anyone. The plush pillow top also absorbs some of the shuffle of getting up.
How much space does each person get on the Hypnos Topaz UK king?
With two people sharing, that's 75cm each across the 150cm width, and the UK king is 15cm wider than the UK double, a difference you notice every night rather than a spec-sheet detail. The 200cm length, 5ft x 6ft 6in in old money, also gives taller sleepers room to stretch out fully.
