Key benefits
- Fits compact rooms: We suggest at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space, which means a UK single can share a small bedroom with a wardrobe and desk without crowding it.
- Firm support for one: The firm Responsive Support Core keeps a solo back sleeper well supported, although younger, lighter side sleepers may find it a little unyielding at the shoulder.
- Check raised frames first: At 25cm deep, it's a substantial mattress for a bunk, cabin or mid sleeper frame, so check the frame's maximum mattress depth and rail height before ordering.
- Easy, familiar bedding: It takes standard single sheets and a single duvet at 135 x 200cm, so spare bedding for a guest room is simple to find and replace.
- Washable cover: The removable, washable cover makes it easier to keep a child's bed or occasional guest bed fresh after spills or visitors.
This size suits you if...
You sleep alone and like a firm feel, you're furnishing a child's or teenager's room where storage and a desk need their share of the floor, or you want two separate beds side by side in a guest room.
Consider another size if...
You want room to spread out as an adult, or you sometimes share the bed. We'd recommend the UK small double instead: it's the same length, and we suggest at least 2.4m x 2.8m for it.

FAQ's
Will the Komfi Vitality Excel UK single fit a bunk bed or mid sleeper?
It may, but check first. The mattress is 25cm deep, and raised frames usually set a maximum mattress depth so the safety rail stays high enough above the sleeping surface. Compare that figure with the frame maker's guidance, and make sure the 90 x 190cm footprint matches the frame too.
What size room do I need for a UK single Komfi Vitality Excel?
We suggest allowing at least 2.1m x 2.8m. In a loft conversion, a UK single's narrow footprint also lets the bed sit lengthways under the slope, leaving the higher part of the room free for standing and storage.
Is a UK single Komfi Vitality Excel big enough for an adult?
For one adult who sleeps fairly still, yes, at 90cm wide. If you sprawl or you're tall, it can feel snug. The UK small double is 30cm wider at the same length, and the UK king adds 10cm of length.
Can two Komfi Vitality Excel singles fit in a shared kids' room or guest room?
Often, yes, as each bed is 90 x 190cm. Siblings sharing or guests who aren't a couple usually find two singles more comfortable than one larger bed. Measure the room with both beds and a clear walkway between them before you order.
What bedding fits a UK single Komfi Vitality Excel?
Standard UK single fitted sheets suit the 90 x 190cm surface, with a single duvet at 135 x 200cm on top. As the mattress is 25cm deep, check the pocket depth on fitted sheets so they tuck fully under rather than riding up at the corners.
