Layer Details
- Cool-to-the-touch fabric cover. The top cover is designed to feel cool when you first lie down. It's a small thing, but a pleasant one on warm nights.
- Nectatex® memory foam. This layer cushions pressure points at the shoulders and hips. Nectar states it's 30x more breathable than regular memory foam, so it should trap less heat than the memory foam of old.
- Dynamic support foam. A transition layer that promotes spinal alignment, which means your back stays in a more neutral position as you sink into the comfort layer above.
- Nectacoil® pocket springs. Each spring flexes independently to adapt to your body, giving more personalised support than foam alone. The springs also improve airflow and help minimise motion transfer between partners.
- High-density foam. A firmer foam surround encases the spring layer to shore up the edges. This helps prevent that roll-off feeling when you sleep near the side of the bed.

- Proper space for two: At 75cm each for two sharing, you both get room to change position without negotiating for territory.
- A real step up from a double: The UK king is 15cm wider than the UK double, which works out at 7.5cm more space each, a difference you feel every night.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: It's also 10cm longer than the UK double at 200cm, so anyone approaching six foot stops sleeping diagonally or dangling their feet.
- Less disturbance across the width: The Nectacoil® pocket springs flex independently, and at this width your partner's early alarm and getaway happen further from your side of the bed.
- Edges you can actually use: High-density foam encases the spring layer, so all 150cm of width is usable rather than the middle strip alone.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel like a compromise, especially if one of you runs warm or gets up hours before the other. It's also the sensible pick if either of you is tall, since the 200cm length removes that feet-off-the-end problem. Couples who share with a space-hogging dog will appreciate the extra width too.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m minimum, or you sleep alone. In either case we'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m and still gives 67.5cm each if a partner stays over.

Is the Nectar Elite Cool Hybrid in a UK king big enough for a couple?
Comfortably, for most. Two people sharing get 75cm each, which is 7.5cm more per person than the UK double offers. Add the pocket springs, which limit how much movement travels across the mattress, and it's a size well suited to couples on different schedules. Restless sleepers who want maximum separation might still prefer the UK super king.
What room size do I need for the UK king Nectar Elite Cool Hybrid?
We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m, with around 3.2m x 3.2m feeling genuinely comfortable. That allows walking space and bedside tables on both sides. In a newer master bedroom, measure with fitted wardrobes and door swing in mind before committing, as these rooms often feel smaller once furniture is in.
Is the UK king long enough for someone over six foot?
At 200cm long, yes for most people. That's 10cm longer than the UK double, which is often the detail that matters more than width for taller sleepers. If you're well over six foot, note the UK super king is the same length, so sizing up buys width rather than extra legroom.
Should I choose the UK king or the UK super king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider, giving 90cm each for two sharing against the UK king's 75cm, but it needs a room of at least 3m x 2.9m. If your bedroom takes it and you regularly share with a child or a dog, size up. For most couples, the UK king is the better balance of space and room fit.
Will the king size feel different from other sizes of this mattress?
The feel itself doesn't change: every size has the same medium firmness, 28cm depth and cool-touch cover. What changes is how you experience a shared bed. With 75cm each and independently flexing pocket springs, you're less likely to notice a partner turning over or getting up early than you would on a narrower size.
