Layer Details
- Soft, cooling cover. A zip-off, washable cover with Stratos tech that prevents heat build-up, which means you can keep it fresh without wrestling the whole mattress. Hot sleepers should notice the difference on warm nights.
- Bamboo infused wool layer. British wool infused with moisture-wicking bamboo for better breathability. Wool naturally regulates temperature, so this layer helps in winter as well as summer.
- Fresh Simbatex foam layer. Simba's own foam with enhanced airflow and superior elasticity, which means cushioning that springs back quickly rather than leaving you feeling stuck.
- Two layers of Aerocoil springs. A double layer of patented microsprings arranged in thirteen supportive zones. These target parts of the body with specific needs, like your back, hips and shoulders.
- Stabilising core foam layer. A CertiPUR foam layer that provides structural support and extra airflow. It keeps the layers above it working consistently.
- Micro spring support layer. An extra layer of up to 900 high carbon steel microsprings for maximum support. This is where the mattress earns its medium-firm side.
- SupportCore sprung base. Up to 1,000 pocketed, tempered steel barrel springs giving firm, edge-to-edge support with no roll-off. That means you can use the full width of the bed, right to the edge.
- High-density foam base and cover. CertiPUR foam with a breathable cover made from recycled yarn. It gives the whole mattress its stability.

- Full support for one sleeper: All 5,700 springs and thirteen zones serve a single body, which means your back, hips and shoulders each get targeted support without sharing it.
- Compact footprint, premium feel: At 90cm wide it leaves room for a desk or wardrobe in a small bedroom, while still delivering the same 31cm deep build as the larger sizes.
- Edge-to-edge usable width: The pocketed sprung base supports right to the edge, which matters more on a UK single because there's less width to give away.
- Cool for teens and guests alike: The wool, bamboo and zip-off cooling cover suit a warm loft room or a guest who sleeps hot, and the washable cover is practical for children.
- Grows with a teenager: Medium-firm support suits a growing body better than a soft budget mattress, and the substantial build should outlast the cheaper singles it replaces.
This size suits you if...
You're buying for one sleeper who deserves better than a basic single: a teenager whose old mattress is past it, a solo adult in a compact room or first flat, or a guest room you actually want people to sleep well in. Allow at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space and it fits comfortably alongside storage and a desk.
Consider another size if...
You're an adult who moves around in the night, or you occasionally share the bed. The UK single is 30cm narrower than the UK small double, and we'd recommend the UK small double instead for a solo adult with the room space.

Will the Simba Hybrid Luxe single fit a bunk bed or mid sleeper?
Probably not, and this is the main caution for children's rooms. At 31cm deep, the Luxe is likely to sit above the guard rail height on most bunk and mid-sleeper frames, which is a safety issue rather than a comfort one. Measure from the frame base to the top of the rail before buying, and check the frame maker's maximum depth.
Is a UK single Simba Hybrid Luxe big enough for an adult?
For one adult, yes in length and support: at 190cm long it suits most heights, and the thirteen zones work the same as in larger sizes. Width is the constraint. At 90cm you have room to sleep but little to spread out, so restless sleepers or anyone used to a bigger bed may prefer the UK small double.
Is the Simba Hybrid Luxe single a sensible buy for a child?
For a teenager, it's a strong choice: medium-firm support suits growing bodies and the washable cover is genuinely useful. For a young child it's harder to justify, since they'll outgrow their needs before the mattress wears out, and the depth rules out most raised frames. A simpler single may make more sense until the teenage years.
What room size do I need for a single Simba Hybrid Luxe?
We suggest at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space. That's our guidance rather than Simba's, and it leaves enough room to walk round the bed and open drawers. In practice the 90cm width is what makes a single so flexible: it fits under a loft slope or alongside a desk where a double simply wouldn't.
What sheets fit the Simba Hybrid Luxe in a UK single?
Standard single fitted sheets in 90 x 190cm, but they must be deep fitted. The mattress is 31cm deep, so a regular-depth sheet will ping off the corners. A standard single duvet works as normal. Deep fitted singles are widely stocked, though slightly less common than regular ones, so check the depth on the packet before buying.
