- Cover. A damask cover finished with traditional woollen tufts, which hold the fillings in place so they settle less over time. Tufting gives a slightly dimpled surface rather than a smooth quilted top.
- Comfort layers. A blend of natural British wool, mohair, cashmere and silk, including three layers of wool from Romney sheep native to Kent. These fibres breathe well, which means better temperature regulation than foam-heavy alternatives.
- Spring system. Responsive pocket springs combining mini and nano springs, which contour to every inch of your body. Each spring moves independently, so you feel less of a partner's movement in the night.
- Edge support. Enhanced side support creates a durable border, reinforced with three rows of traditional hand side stitching. This prevents dipping at the edges, so the full sleeping surface stays usable.
Layer details from featherandblack.com product page, September 2026.
- Classic shared width: At 67.5cm each for two people sharing, the UK double is snug rather than spacious, which suits couples who sleep fairly close together.
- Edges you can use: Three rows of hand side stitching firm up the border, which means each of you can lie near your own edge and make the most of a narrower shared surface.
- Room for bedside tables: We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for a UK double, leaving space for bedside tables on both sides, with around 3m x 3m feeling comfortable.
- Quieter nights side by side: The 1,680 independently moving pocket springs mean you feel less of your partner turning over, which matters more when you're sharing a UK double than a larger size.
- Easy to dress: Double sheets and a 200 x 200cm double duvet fit a UK double, so you can reuse bedding you probably already own.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed with a partner every night and your bedroom is around 2.6m x 2.8m or a little larger, you'd like bedside tables on both sides without squeezing past the wardrobe, or you're setting up a spare room where visiting couples will stay a night or two.
Consider another size if...
You're both tall or like plenty of personal space, and your room can take more. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which gives 75cm each for two sharing; allow at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

What are the Sleepeezee Ribble UK double dimensions in feet?
The Sleepeezee Ribble in a UK double measures 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in, which is 135 x 190cm. It's the standard UK double footprint, so it will fit a standard double bed frame or divan base.
Can two people sleep near the edge of a Sleepeezee Ribble double?
Yes. The Ribble has enhanced side support reinforced with three rows of hand side stitching, so the border holds up rather than dipping. With 67.5cm each for two people sharing a UK double, being able to use the full width right to the edge makes a real difference to how roomy the bed feels.
Will a Ribble UK double fit in a small bedroom with bedside tables?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for a UK double, and around 3m x 3m feels comfortable once you add bedside tables on both sides. If your room is tighter, the UK small double is 15cm narrower and we suggest at least 2.4m x 2.8m for it.
Is the Sleepeezee Ribble double long enough for tall couples?
The UK double is 190cm long. If either of you finds your feet close to the end on a standard bed, the UK king is 10cm longer as well as 15cm wider, though we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king.
Is the Ribble in a UK double a good choice for a guest room?
It can be, if your guests are usually couples and the room can take a UK double at 2.6m x 2.8m or more. Bear in mind the Ribble is firm, so lighter guests who sleep on their side may find it a little unyielding.
