Layer Details
- Pillow top. A pillow top sewn onto the sleep surface, which means an extra layer of cushioning before you reach the springs. It gives the mattress its plush, sink-in first impression.
- Knitted cover. A soft knitted cover over the top of the mattress. Knitted fabric stretches more than woven, so it flexes with the layers beneath rather than pulling the surface taut.
- Springs. 2,500 pocketed springs in total: 1,500 mini comfort springs and 1,000 traditional pocketed springs. The mini springs respond to smaller pressure points while the full-size springs below provide the core support.

- Fits a typical shared bedroom: We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double, so there is usually space left for a wardrobe and a chest of drawers.
- 67.5cm each when sharing: Each of you gets 67.5cm of width, which suits couples who sleep fairly close together, although a restless partner may make the UK double feel a little snug.
- Soft enough for two side sleepers: The medium soft feel lets shoulders and hips settle in, which means two side sleepers sharing should both feel cushioned rather than pushed back at.
- Smaller footprint than the UK king: The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king, which can decide whether bedside tables fit on both sides of the bed.
- A welcoming guest room bed: In a spare room, the UK double gives visiting couples a proper shared bed with a plush pillow top surface, while leaving space for their luggage.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed with a partner and you both like a softer surface for sleeping on your side, and your bedroom meets our suggested minimum of 2.6m x 2.8m without much to spare.
Consider another size if...
You share with a restless partner or a pet regularly joins you on the bed. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which gives 75cm each for two sharing; allow at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Is the Sleepeezee Serene 2500 UK double wide enough for two side sleepers?
For most couples, yes. The UK double gives you 67.5cm each, and side sleepers tend to take up less width than someone who sprawls on their back. The medium soft feel suits side sleeping too. If one of you spreads out, the UK king gives 75cm each.
Sleepeezee Serene 2500 UK double or UK king for a smaller bedroom?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double and at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king. The UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer, so in a tighter room the UK double usually leaves easier space to walk round the bed and open drawers.
How long is the Sleepeezee Serene 2500 double if you're tall?
The UK double is 190cm long, or 6ft 3in, the same length as the UK single and the UK small double. If your feet already reach the end of your current bed, the UK king is 10cm longer and may suit you better.
Is a UK double Serene 2500 good for a solo sleeper with a dog or cat?
It can be. At 135cm wide, the UK double gives one person room to spread out while a pet claims a corner. The softer surface means a pet curled up near your legs may make a slight dip, so a lighter cat or small dog is the easier fit.
Is the Serene 2500 in a UK double a good choice for a guest room?
Yes, if your guests are usually couples. The UK double gives two visitors a genuine shared bed, and it fits comfortably in a spare room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m. The medium soft, pillow top feel suits most side sleepers, although guests who prefer firm mattresses may find it a little too soft.
