Layer Details
- Top Layer. A luxurious comfort quilting sits on top, which means a soft, cushioned surface the moment you lie down.
- Soft Foam. A 2cm layer of soft foam provides deep comfort through consistent weight distribution. In practice, that means your weight settles evenly rather than concentrating at the hips and shoulders.
- Springs. Traditional open coil springs provide even support across the whole mattress. Expect a slightly bouncier, more connected feel than pocket springs, so movement transfers a little more between partners.
- Non Slip Fabric. An anti-slip base adds stability, keeping the mattress in place on slatted or divan bases.

- Proper room for two: At 135 x 190cm, or 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in, each sleeper gets 67.5cm, which means a genuine shared bed rather than a squeeze.
- Fits a typical main bedroom: We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m, so most UK main bedrooms can keep bedside tables on both sides and still open the wardrobe.
- Space for a solo sleeper and a pet: If you sleep alone and a dog or cat claims a corner, the 15cm of extra width over the UK small double leaves you both enough room.
- A forgiving guest bed for couples: In a spare room for visiting couples, the Soft/Medium surface suits most guests, and the non-slip base stops it creeping on slatted frames.
- Easy to dress: Double sheets and a 200 x 200cm double duvet fit it, which means you can buy bedding from almost any shop at any budget.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed with a partner and want the widest size the SleepSoul Air offers, your bedroom meets our suggested 2.6m x 2.8m minimum, or you sleep alone and like room to spread out, perhaps alongside a pet.
Consider another size if...
Your room is smaller than 2.6m x 2.8m, or the bed is for one person in a compact second bedroom. We'd recommend the UK small double instead, which needs at least 2.4m x 2.8m.

How much room does each person get on a SleepSoul Air UK double?
Each of you gets 67.5cm across the 135cm width. That's the standard double allowance and comfortable for most couples, though it can feel a little snug if one of you sprawls. The open coils connect the surface, so you may feel a partner's movement slightly more than on pocket springs.
Is the UK double the biggest SleepSoul Air size?
Yes. SleepSoul lists the Air in UK single, UK small double and UK double only, so there's no UK king or UK super king. If you want the 75cm each that a UK king gives two sharers, you'd need to look at a different mattress.
Will a SleepSoul Air UK double fit in a small bedroom?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m, with around 3m x 3m feeling comfortable. Below that, bedside tables on both sides plus a wardrobe can leave little walking space. For a tighter room, the UK small double needs at least 2.4m x 2.8m and is the same length.
SleepSoul Air UK double or small double for a couple?
The UK double is 15cm wider than the UK small double, and both are 190cm long. For two adults sharing every night, that extra width makes the UK double the better choice. The UK small double suits occasional sharing, or a solo sleeper who wants more than a single.
Is the SleepSoul Air UK double long enough for tall couples?
It's 190cm long, or 6ft 3in. If either of you finds your feet reaching the end of standard beds, the SleepSoul Air has no longer option, because the UK king, which is 10cm longer than the UK double, isn't part of this range.
