Is the Ortho Tranquility 5000 super king big enough for two adults and a child?
For occasional night visits, yes. The UK super king gives 90cm each to two adults, so a small child in the middle still leaves everyone a share of the mattress. The firm surface also means nobody rolls towards the centre. If a child sleeps in with you every night as they grow, the space will start to feel tighter.
Ortho Tranquility 5000 super king vs king: how much extra space do you get?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two sizes are the same length. For two people sharing, that works out at 15cm more width each. If you are tall, the UK king already gives you the same length, so the extra width is what you are paying for.
Is a super king better than a double for a restless partner?
If the room allows it, yes. The UK super king is 45cm wider than the UK double and 10cm longer, and gives 22.5cm more width each. The pocket springs help limit movement across the bed, but distance is what makes a restless partner easiest to ignore. We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double.
Can a super king Ortho Tranquility 5000 go in a loft conversion bedroom?
Often, but measure first. Allow at least 3m x 2.9m of floor, and around 3.5m x 3.2m will feel more comfortable. In a loft conversion, the sloping ceiling usually decides which wall the headboard goes against. Check the turns on your landing and staircase too, and the swing of the bedroom door.
Is the Ortho Tranquility 5000 super king good if a large dog sleeps on the bed?
A UK super king gives the most room of any size in this range, so a large dog at the foot or between you takes less space away from each person. The firm, sprung feel resists dipping where the dog lies. The breathable natural fillings also help with the extra heat a dog brings to the bed.
