- Bonnell springs. A connected coil system at 166 springs per square metre, which means consistent, slightly springy support across the whole mattress. Because the coils are linked, movement travels more than it would with pocket springs, so a restless partner will be more noticeable.
- Standard foam. A polyurethane foam layer at 33 kg/m3, which means a decent level of durability for the price rather than a bargain-bin foam that flattens quickly. It softens the feel of the springs a little without adding much sink-in comfort.
- Stiff felt. A firm felt layer that sits between the foam and the springs. It stops the foam pressing into the coils, which helps the mattress wear evenly over time.

- More room each: The UK king gives 75cm per sleeper, which means 7.5cm more each than the UK double, so you drift into each other's side less often.
- Length for taller sleepers: At 200cm, or 6ft 6in, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, so a partner over six foot can stretch out without their feet overhanging.
- Easier to share on different schedules: If one of you gets up hours before the other, the extra width puts more distance between you, although the connected coils still pass some movement across.
- Room for pillows and shifting: During pregnancy or recovery, the UK king leaves space for support pillows and changes of position without pushing your partner towards the edge.
- The largest Vestmarka size: Ikea makes the Vestmarka in UK double and UK king only, so the UK king is as much space as this mattress offers.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel cramped, one of you is over six foot and keeps running out of length, or you need space for pregnancy pillows or a dog that settles in the middle.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Will I feel my partner move less on the Ikea Vestmarka UK king?
A little less. The UK king gives 75cm each against 67.5cm on the UK double, so there's more distance between you. The Bonnell springs are joined together, though, which means a partner turning over or getting up early will still be felt. If movement wakes you easily, a pocket sprung mattress would suit you better than any size of this one.
Is the Ikea Vestmarka UK king long enough if you're over 6ft?
For most people, yes. The UK king measures 150 x 200cm, or 5ft x 6ft 6in, which is 10cm longer than the UK double. For a taller partner, that extra length often matters more than the width, because it stops feet hanging over the end and leaves room for a pillow at the top.
Will a UK king Vestmarka fit in a new build master bedroom?
Measure before you order. We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, and 3.2m x 3.2m if you want comfortable walking space around it. New build bedrooms tend to feel smaller once wardrobes and bedside tables go in, so measure the floor space that will actually be clear.
Should I get the Vestmarka in a UK double or a UK king?
Go for the UK king if you share the bed and your room can take it, because you get 7.5cm more each and 10cm more length. The UK double makes more sense in a spare room or a tighter space, since we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for it, compared with 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king.
Does the Ikea Vestmarka come in a super king?
No. Ikea makes the Vestmarka in UK double and UK king only, so the UK king is the widest option. A UK super king would give 90cm each, which is 15cm more than the UK king. If you need that much room, you'll have to look at a different mattress.
