- Top upholstery layer. Hand-teased real Shetland wool blended with cashmere and mohair, which means a soft, breathable sleeping surface that helps regulate temperature. These fibres are teased by hand rather than compressed by machine, so the loft feels plush from day one.
- Middle upholstery layer. Hand-opened Austrian Moosburger® horsetail, a traditional upholstery material valued for its natural spring and airflow. It adds resilience beneath the softer top fibres, so the surface recovers quickly when you move.
- Core upholstery layer. Blended real Shetland wool and cotton, cushioning the transition between the upholstery and the springs. This layer keeps the feel consistent and stops you sensing the spring unit beneath.
- Spring layer 1. A two layer, hand-nested calico pocket spring construction using vanadium steel springs, 2,812 in total. Each spring works independently, which means support that follows your body's shape and less motion transfer to a partner.
- Base upholstery layer. Blended real Shetland wool and cotton beneath the springs, giving the unit a stable, cushioned foundation. It also protects the springs and the base of your bed from wear.
- Border. Upholstered with protective coir and wool, which means firm, durable edges that hold their shape. You should feel supported sitting or sleeping near the side rather than rolling off.

- Room for two, sensibly sized: At 67.5cm each for two sharing, the UK double suits couples who sleep fairly still, although restless partners may find it a little snug.
- Fits a typical bedroom: We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m, with around 3m x 3m comfortable, which usually leaves space for bedside tables on both sides and a wardrobe.
- Less disturbance at close quarters: Each pocket spring moves independently, which means your partner's turning travels less across the bed, a real help when you share a narrower width.
- Usable right to the edge: The coir and wool border keeps the sides firm, so on a UK double you can sleep near the edge without losing precious width.

Is the Vispring Magnificence UK double wide enough for two people?
For most couples, yes. The UK double gives 67.5cm each, and the firm coir and wool border means the outer edges are usable sleeping space. Independent pocket springs also limit how much movement crosses the bed. If either of you sleeps starfished, the UK king will feel noticeably roomier.

The UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double, giving 7.5cm more each for two sharing. It needs more room, though: we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king, against 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double.
Will a Vispring Magnificence UK double fit my bedroom with bedside tables?
If your room is at least 2.6m x 2.8m, the UK double will fit, although bedside tables on both sides can feel tight at that minimum. Around 3m x 3m is the comfortable norm and lets you walk round both sides freely.
Is a UK double long enough for tall sleepers?
The UK double is 190cm long, which is 6ft 3in. That suits most people, but if you or your partner are tall, the UK king adds 10cm of length, so feet are less likely to reach the end.
