- Top upholstery layer. Hand-teased real Shetland wool blended with cashmere and mohair, which means a soft, breathable sleeping surface that helps regulate temperature. These fibres are teased by hand rather than compressed by machine, so the loft feels plush from day one.
- Middle upholstery layer. Hand-opened Austrian Moosburger® horsetail, a traditional upholstery material valued for its natural spring and airflow. It adds resilience beneath the softer top fibres, so the surface recovers quickly when you move.
- Core upholstery layer. Blended real Shetland wool and cotton, cushioning the transition between the upholstery and the springs. This layer keeps the feel consistent and stops you sensing the spring unit beneath.
- Spring layer 1. A two layer, hand-nested calico pocket spring construction using vanadium steel springs, 2,812 in total. Each spring works independently, which means support that follows your body's shape and less motion transfer to a partner.
- Base upholstery layer. Blended real Shetland wool and cotton beneath the springs, giving the unit a stable, cushioned foundation. It also protects the springs and the base of your bed from wear.
- Border. Upholstered with protective coir and wool, which means firm, durable edges that hold their shape. You should feel supported sitting or sleeping near the side rather than rolling off.

- Real distance from a restless partner: With 90cm each, a partner who tosses and turns stays further away, and the independently working pocket springs mean less of their movement travels across to you.
- More room than the UK king: The UK super king gives 15cm more each than the UK king at the same length, so the extra space all goes into width.
- A big step up from the UK double: If you're moving from a UK double, the UK super king gives you 22.5cm more each and adds 10cm of length for taller sleepers.
- Space when the household joins you: When a child climbs in at 3am or a large dog settles by your feet, the full 6ft of width means the adults keep a usable share of the mattress.
- Suited to generous rooms: We suggest a room of at least 3m x 2.9m, which suits a large master or a period bedroom with high ceilings where a smaller bed can look lost.

Is a Vispring Magnificence super king big enough for two adults and a child?
The UK super king is 180cm wide, a full 6ft, which gives two adults 90cm each before anyone else climbs in. A small child visiting at night will squeeze everyone slightly, but you keep far more room than on a UK king, which gives 75cm each. For a child who joins you most nights, the UK super king is the sensible choice.

Both are 200cm long, so the difference is all in width. The UK super king is 30cm wider and gives 15cm more each for two sharing. Choose the UK super king if your room clears our suggested 3m x 2.9m. If it doesn't, the UK king needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m and will leave you space to walk around the bed.
Will a super king Vispring Magnificence fit in a loft conversion bedroom?
In a loft conversion, the sloping ceiling usually decides which wall the bed goes against, because you need standing height at the sides to get in and out. Measure the floor area where you have full headroom, not the whole room. If that usable area is under our suggested 3m x 2.9m, a UK king is likely to sit more comfortably.
