- Ticking. The outer cover is made from soft to the touch, finest quality ticking. It is the surface you'll actually feel through your sheet, so the softness matters more than it might seem.
- Hand tufting and side-stitching. The mattress is hand tufted with felt washers, which holds the fillings in place so they settle evenly rather than shifting into lumps. Two rows of hand side-stitching strengthen the border, giving you firmer support right to the edge.
- Natural fillings. The fillings are all natural: British fleece wool, bamboo and cotton. Wool in particular regulates temperature well, drawing moisture away so you stay drier through the night.
- Pocket springs. Each spring has 6 coils and is hand-nested in its own calico pocket. That means the springs respond to your body individually, so you get support where you press down without disturbing your partner.
- Wool protector pad. The 5-foot size contains 1,326 vanadium steel springs, topped with a wool protector pad. The pad cushions the transition between springs and fillings, so you feel support rather than individual coils.
- Wool-upholstered borders. The borders are upholstered in wool and include air vents and handles. The vents let the mattress breathe, while the handles make turning it a slightly less awkward job.

- 90cm of your own: Two people sharing get 90cm each, which means a restless partner can roll over freely without drifting into your half of the bed.
- Independent springs over a wide surface: Each hand-nested spring moves on its own, so across a 6ft width a partner's movement has further to travel and fades before it reaches you.
- Space when the household piles in: When a small child wanders in at 3am or a large dog settles by your feet, the UK super king still leaves both adults a usable share.
- In proportion with a large room: In a spacious master or high-ceilinged period bedroom, a smaller bed can look a little lost, whereas the UK super king fills the space properly.
- Cooler with more bodies in the bed: The wool, bamboo and cotton fillings breathe well, which helps on nights when two adults and a warm child are all sharing the same mattress.
This size suits you if...
You share with a genuinely restless partner and want real distance rather than a softer comfort layer, or children and pets join you so often that a smaller bed leaves the adults clinging to the edges.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of our suggested 3m x 2.9m, or a UK super king would crowd the door swing. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Vispring Realm super king vs king: how much extra space do you get?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two are the same length. For a couple, that works out at 15cm more each, which is the difference between brushing elbows and sleeping undisturbed. We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m for the UK super king and 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king.
Is a Vispring Realm super king good for a restless partner?
It's the strongest option in the range for this. Distance helps more than any comfort layer, and the UK super king gives 22.5cm more each than the UK double. The pocket springs move independently too, so a partner turning over on their side should rarely register on yours.
Is a super king big enough for two adults and a child?
For the occasional night-time visitor, yes. At 180cm wide, the UK super king leaves room for a small child between two adults without anyone ending up on the edge. If a child sleeps with you every night into their older years, it will feel fuller, but it remains the roomiest size this mattress comes in.
Can I fit a super king mattress in a loft conversion bedroom?
Often, but the sloping ceiling usually decides which wall the bed goes against, as you'll want headroom where you sit up. Measure the floor area with full standing height, not the whole room. If that usable space is under our suggested 3m x 2.9m, the UK king is likely the more comfortable fit.
What should I measure before ordering a Vispring super king?
Check how the bedroom door swings once the bed is in place, and walk the route from your front door, paying attention to any tight landing turns. Vispring doesn't list a weight for the UK super king, so plan for two people to carry it. The side handles make manoeuvring it a little easier.
