Knitted cover with Microquilted finish
A soft knitted cover with a micro-quilted finish, which means a smooth surface with a little extra cosiness and warmth. It's the first thing you'll feel, and it adds a gentle, cushioned touch.
Soft White Fibres
Soft synthetic polyester fillings sit beneath the cover, wrapping around your shape and easing pressure at the hips and shoulders. The brand describes them as durable and resilient, designed to hold their shape over time.
Pocket Springs
1000 pocket springs, each sewn into its own fabric pocket so they move independently. This means support goes where your body needs it most, and movement on one side of the bed transfers less to the other.

- A sensible fit for most UK bedrooms: At 135 x 190cm it leaves space for wardrobes and drawers in rooms where a UK king would leave you shuffling sideways.
- Pocket springs matter more when you share: Each of the 1000 springs moves on its own, which means a restless partner disturbs you less across the shared surface.
- Soft, cushioned feel at 67.5cm each: Two people get 67.5cm each, and the soft fibre fillings ease pressure at hips and shoulders on both sides.
- Room for bedside tables on both sides: Allow at least 2.6m x 2.8m and most rooms will still take a table each side, something couples underestimate.
- Easy to dress cheaply: Double sheets and a 200 x 200cm duvet are sold everywhere at every price, useful if you're kitting out a whole home at once.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the traditional couples' size without giving the room over to the mattress, you're furnishing a first flat or a whole house on a stretched budget and need a shared bed that doesn't swallow the money, or you're setting up a guest room that visiting couples will actually use.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner both like space, or one of you is broad-shouldered and 67.5cm each feels tight. We'd recommend the UK king instead: it's 15cm wider and 10cm longer, and we suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.

Is the Bodyshape Boost 1000 in a UK double big enough for a couple?
Yes, for most couples. The UK double gives 67.5cm each for two people sharing, and because the 1000 pocket springs respond individually, you feel less of your partner's movement than that width might suggest. If either of you sprawls or runs broad, sizing up to the UK king adds 15cm of width and 10cm of length.
What room size do I need for the Bodyshape Boost 1000 double?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm. That allowance covers walking space and, in most layouts, a bedside table on each side. This is our own guidance rather than the brand's, so measure your room, including alcoves and door swing, before you commit.
Should I get the Bodyshape Boost 1000 in a double or a king?
It comes down to your room. The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king, so it fits where a king would dominate. If your bedroom meets our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king and you both value space, the extra width is a nicer way to share this soft, cushioned mattress.
Will a double mattress get up the stairs in a small flat?
Usually, yes. At 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in the UK double is a manageable size for two people to carry, though tight turns in older terraces and narrow new build landings can still be awkward with a 25cm-deep pocket spring mattress that shouldn't be sharply folded. Measure the tightest point of the route first.
Is this double a good choice for a guest room?
It suits one well. The UK double is the size visiting couples expect, the soft, cushioned feel is easy for occasional use, and the price sits at the budget end. The one caution: owner feedback on firmness is mixed, so guests who prefer a firm bed may find it a little forgiving. For a spare room, that's a modest risk.
