Layer Details
- Knitted cover with Microquilted finish. A soft knitted cover with a micro-quilted finish, which means a smooth surface with a little extra cosiness and warmth. It's the first thing you'll feel, and it adds a gentle, cushioned touch.
- Soft White Fibres. Soft synthetic polyester fillings sit beneath the cover, wrapping around your shape and easing pressure at the hips and shoulders. The brand describes them as durable and resilient, designed to hold their shape over time.
- Pocket Springs. 1000 pocket springs, each sewn into its own fabric pocket so they move independently. This means support goes where your body needs it most, and movement on one side of the bed transfers less to the other.
Layer details from mattressonline.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- 75cm of width each: Two people sharing get 75cm each, which means turning over or stretching out without pressing into your partner's space.
- Pocket springs across a wider bed: The 1000 independent springs limit how far movement travels, useful at this width when one of you gets up hours before the other.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, a real difference if either of you is approaching six foot.
- A budget route to a king: Kings usually carry a premium, but this mattress keeps the upgrade affordable; compare the retailers listed on this page for the current price.
- Soft, cushioned feel at scale: The fibre fillings and micro-quilted cover give a gentle surface across the full 150cm width, cosy rather than firm.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel cramped, you or your partner keep different hours and want movement kept to one side, or one of you is tall enough that a standard 190cm mattress leaves feet at the edge. It also suits couples whose dog has claimed a permanent spot and taken more space than expected.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest as a minimum for a UK king. In that case the UK double would suit you better, and we suggest allowing at least 2.6m x 2.8m for it.

Is the Bodyshape Boost 1000 in a UK king good for couples?
Yes, with a condition. The 150cm width gives two people 75cm each, and the 1000 pocket springs keep movement fairly localised, helpful if one of you is restless or rises early. The soft, cushioned feel divides opinion in owner reviews though, so a couple wanting firm support should look at a different mattress rather than a different size.
Will the UK king Bodyshape Boost 1000 fit in my bedroom?
We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, and that's our guidance rather than the brand's. New build master bedrooms can be deceptive: they look fine empty, then wardrobes and bedside tables shrink the walking space. Measure with furniture in place, or at least marked out, before committing.
Is a UK king long enough for someone over six foot?
It helps considerably. The UK king is 200cm long, 10cm more than the UK double, so a sleeper around six foot gets that bit of clearance before their feet reach the edge. If you're well past six foot you won't gain more by sizing up: the UK super king is the same length, just 30cm wider.
Should I get the Bodyshape Boost 1000 in a king or a super king?
The UK king suits most couples: enough personal space without demanding a large room. The UK super king is 30cm wider, worth it if a child or dog regularly joins you, but we suggest allowing at least 3m x 2.9m of room for it. If your bedroom can take that comfortably, the extra width is the only difference; length is identical.
How does the soft feel of this mattress work at king size?
The feel doesn't change with size, but how you use the width does. Because each of the 1000 springs responds independently across the 150cm surface, a lighter partner won't roll towards a heavier one, a common complaint with cheaper open-coil kings. The soft fibre top stays gentle at the edges too, though heavier sleepers may find it a little too yielding.
