Layer Details
Knitted cover
A soft knitted cover with breathability, which means heat can escape rather than building up at the surface. It's a simple touch but a welcome one on a memory foam mattress.
6cm memory foam
This layer adapts to the contours of your body for soothing pressure relief. In practice, that means a gentle cradling feel around your hips and shoulders as you settle in.
14cm Reflex foam core
A supportive core that creates the medium to firm feel. This is what keeps your spine aligned and stops you sinking too far into the mattress.
Layer details from mattressonline.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- 90cm of width each: Two people sharing get 90cm each, so one of you turning over in the 6cm memory foam layer barely registers on the other side.
- Space for night-time visitors: When a child pads in at 3am, or a large dog treats the bed as routine, there's still a fair share of mattress left for everyone.
- Distance beats motion transfer: Memory foam already dampens movement, and at this width a fidgety partner is simply too far away to disturb you.
- Firm support across a wide span: The 14cm Reflex foam core keeps the medium firm feel consistent right to the edges, so all 180cm of width is usable sleeping space.
- A budget route to maximum space: Super kings usually mean a serious outlay, and the Bodyshape Classic's simple two-layer build keeps this size within reach of tighter budgets.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the most sleeping space a standard UK size offers, your partner is genuinely restless and you've decided distance is the answer, or children and pets regularly join you and a UK king has started to feel crowded. Your bedroom should comfortably clear our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m, ideally with room to spare for walking round the bed.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under our suggested 3m x 2.9m minimum, or you mostly sleep alone. The UK king would suit you better: it's 30cm narrower but the same length, and needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

How much space does the Bodyshape Classic super king give each sleeper?
At 180cm wide, it works out at 90cm each for two people sharing. On the Bodyshape Classic that space does real work: the 6cm memory foam layer cradles each of you independently, and with that much distance between you, one person shifting position rarely reaches the other side of the bed.
What room size do I need for the Bodyshape Classic in a UK super king?
We suggest allowing at least 3m x 2.9m for a UK super king, and around 3.5m x 3.2m feels more comfortable, leaving space to walk around the bed and open wardrobe doors. In a large master or a period property with generous proportions, this size sits naturally where a UK king can look slightly lost.
Should I get the Bodyshape Classic in a UK king or super king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two are the same length. If a restless partner, wandering children or a bed-sharing dog are part of your nights, that extra 30cm is the difference between coping and sleeping well. If your room is under 3m x 2.9m, the UK king is the sensible pick.
Is the Bodyshape Classic super king awkward to get upstairs?
Less than you might fear. It arrives rolled and compressed rather than at its full 180 x 200cm footprint, which makes tight landings and door swings far more manageable than moving a rigid super king would be. Once it's in the room, give it 8 hours to expand fully before sleeping on it.
Is a super king big enough for co-sleeping with children?
It's the best standard size for it. With 6ft of width, two adults and a visiting child can each keep a workable share, and the medium firm feel means nobody rolls into a dip in the middle. The knitted breathable cover helps too, since three bodies generate noticeably more warmth than two.
