- Premium Talalay latex. Natural latex with no artificial additives. This gives a springy, responsive comfort layer rather than the slow sink of memory foam.
- Calico pocket springs. A single layer of 1760 natural calico pocket springs in the 150x200cm size, hand-nested and hand-centre-tied. That hand-tying is there to minimise movement transfer, which means a restless partner is less likely to wake you.
- Cashmere and silk. Cashmere hair and silk fibres blended into a durable insulation layer. It's designed to keep the feel supportive rather than squashy.
- Layers of wool. Wool blended into a blanket-like upholstery layer. Wool adds a soft, insulating finish beneath the cover.
Layer details from dunlopillo.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Space to sleep apart, together: At 75cm each for two people sharing, you can settle into your own patch rather than negotiating the middle all night.
- Less disturbance where it counts: The hand-nested calico springs move independently, which means an early riser slipping out at 6am is less likely to wake the person still asleep.
- Length for taller sleepers: The UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, a real difference if one of you is approaching six foot and tired of feet hanging off the end.
- A usable edge on a wider bed: Firmer border springs keep the edge supportive, so sitting on the side to dress, or sleeping near it, doesn't feel like tipping off.
- Responsive feel across the width: Talalay latex springs back rather than sinking slowly, which makes changing position on a bigger mattress easier, at the cost of a memory foam hug.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a UK double has started to feel like a compromise, one of you is tall enough that the 200cm length is the real draw, or your schedules rarely match and you want the hand-tied springs plus extra width working together so early alarms disturb the later sleeper as little as possible.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king. In that case we'd recommend the UK double instead: it's 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter, and we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for it.

How many springs does the Dunlopillo Elite Luxury 1750 have in a UK king?
Slightly more than the name suggests. Dunlopillo's own spec sheet lists 1760 calico pocket springs in the 150 x 200cm size, with counts varying by size from 1000 in a single to 2020 in a super king. Each spring is hand-nested and hand-centre-tied, which is what limits movement transfer across the bed.
Is a UK king wide enough for a couple who disturb each other?
It helps on two fronts. The size gives 75cm each for two people sharing, so there's simply more distance between you, and this mattress's hand-tied calico springs move independently rather than as a block. If one of you gets up hours before the other, the combination should mean fewer accidental wake-ups.
What room size do I need for the Dunlopillo Elite Luxury in a UK king?
We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m. That's our guidance rather than Dunlopillo's, and it allows walking space and drawer clearance around a 150 x 200cm mattress. New build master bedrooms can be tighter than they look once fitted wardrobes go in, so measure the usable floor, not the room on the plan.
Is a UK king long enough for someone over six foot?
At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, and for tall sleepers that length is often the real reason to upgrade. It won't suit the very tallest, but for anyone around the six foot mark it usually means heels stay on the mattress rather than the footboard.
Should I choose the UK king or the UK super king for this mattress?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king; the two are the same length, so you're paying for width alone. We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m of room for the UK super king. If a dog routinely claims part of the bed, that extra width is where it goes; otherwise the UK king suits most couples.
