- Premium Talalay latex. Natural latex with no artificial additives. This gives a springy, responsive comfort layer rather than the slow sink of memory foam.
- Calico pocket springs. A single layer of 1760 natural calico pocket springs in the 150x200cm size, hand-nested and hand-centre-tied. That hand-tying is there to minimise movement transfer, which means a restless partner is less likely to wake you.
- Cashmere and silk. Cashmere hair and silk fibres blended into a durable insulation layer. It's designed to keep the feel supportive rather than squashy.
- Layers of wool. Wool blended into a blanket-like upholstery layer. Wool adds a soft, insulating finish beneath the cover.

Dunlopillo's spec sheet lists 1000 calico pocket springs in the single, even though the retailer name says 1750. Spring counts scale with mattress area, so a smaller size carries fewer springs. The springs are still hand-nested and hand-centre-tied, so the independent movement the mattress is known for is unchanged.
What size room do I need for the Dunlopillo Elite Luxury single?
We suggest allowing at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space. That leaves room to walk round the bed and open drawers or a wardrobe, which matters in a child's room where the bed competes with toy storage and a desk. Two singles plus a walkway will fit most shared children's rooms.
