- Pillow top. A luxuriously plump pillow top sits on the surface, which means a softer, more cushioned first feel before you reach the supportive layers beneath.
- Damask fabric. The mattress is wrapped in soft-touch damask fabric. It gives the sleeping surface a smooth, gentle finish against bedding.
- Silk and mohair blend. A silk and mohair blend brings sumptuous softness and helps regulate temperature. In practice that means the mattress should feel less clammy if you run warm at night.
- Platinum 3D polyester. This Platinum 3D polyester layer is fully recyclable at the end of its life, a small but genuine environmental plus for a mattress in this bracket.
- Pocket springs. Individually wrapped pocket springs distribute body weight evenly for head-to-toe support. Because each spring moves independently, you should feel less disturbance when a partner shifts position.

- 75cm each, every night: Two sharers get 75cm of width apiece, enough to change position without negotiating for space.
- Less disturbance at different hours: If one of you gets up hours before the other, the individually wrapped springs plus the extra width mean movement is far less likely to wake a sleeping partner.
- Length for taller sleepers: At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, a genuine relief if one of you is approaching six foot.
- Room for restless nights: During pregnancy or recovery, when you're propping pillows and shifting position often, the wider surface keeps that fidgeting on your own side.
- Cooler with more space: The silk and mohair blend regulates temperature, and sleeping further apart in a UK king helps hot sleepers even more.
- Fits most master bedrooms: We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m of floor space, which most UK master bedrooms can manage.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel cramped, one of you keeps different hours and you're tired of being woken, or someone in the bed is tall enough to appreciate the extra 10cm of length over a UK double. It also suits couples going through a stage, pregnancy or recovery from surgery, where turning over comfortably matters more than usual.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king, or you sleep alone. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m and is only 15cm narrower.

Is the Feather & Black Boulton in a UK king good for couples?
Yes, this is the size we'd point most couples towards. You get 75cm of width each, and because the 10,000 pocket springs move independently, a partner turning over on their side of a 150cm-wide surface is far less likely to disturb you than on a smaller mattress.
Is the UK king Boulton long enough for tall sleepers?
At 200cm long, the UK king gives you 10cm more length than the UK double, which most people up to and slightly over six foot find comfortable. If width is your bigger concern, the UK super king is 30cm wider but the same length, so sizing up adds no extra legroom.
What room size do I need for the Boulton in a UK king?
We suggest a bedroom of at least 2.7m x 2.9m, our own guidance rather than the brand's. That leaves walking room on both sides once bedside tables are in. New build masters can be tighter than they look on the plans, so measure with wardrobes accounted for before committing.
Should I choose the Boulton in a UK king or a UK super king?
If your room comfortably exceeds 3m x 2.9m and you want maximum space, perhaps because a dog routinely claims part of the bed, the UK super king adds 30cm of width. For most couples in typical UK bedrooms, the UK king is the better balance of space and floor plan.
Where can I compare prices for the Boulton UK king?
Use the price table on this page. The figures shown are live and updated as retailers change them, so they're a more reliable guide than any number printed in a review. Sizes are often discounted at different rates, so a deal on the UK double won't necessarily apply to the UK king.
