Layer Details
- Pillow top. A luxuriously plump pillow top sits on the surface, which means a softer, more cushioned first feel before you reach the supportive layers beneath.
- Damask fabric. The mattress is wrapped in soft-touch damask fabric. It gives the sleeping surface a smooth, gentle finish against bedding.
- Silk and mohair blend. A silk and mohair blend brings sumptuous softness and helps regulate temperature. In practice that means the mattress should feel less clammy if you run warm at night.
- Platinum 3D polyester. This Platinum 3D polyester layer is fully recyclable at the end of its life, a small but genuine environmental plus for a mattress in this bracket.
- Pocket springs. Individually wrapped pocket springs distribute body weight evenly for head-to-toe support. Because each spring moves independently, you should feel less disturbance when a partner shifts position.

- 90cm each for two sharers: With 90cm each for two people sharing, a restless partner has to travel a long way before you feel a thing.
- Pocket springs plus real distance: The 10,000 individually wrapped pocket springs already limit motion transfer, and at this width the extra distance does the rest.
- Space for the whole household: If children or a large dog treat your bed as theirs, the UK super king is the size where everyone still gets a share.
- Cooler with company: The silk and mohair blend regulates temperature, useful when three bodies rather than two are generating heat under one duvet.
- Proportions for bigger rooms: In a large master or period bedroom where a UK king can look a little lost, this footprint sits comfortably.
This size suits you if...
You share every night and want the most sleeping space a standard UK size offers, your partner turns over constantly and distance matters more to you than any comfort layer, or children and pets regularly join you and a UK king has started to feel crowded. Your bedroom should measure at least 3m x 2.9m by our guidance, and larger feels better.
Consider another size if...
Your room is under our suggested 3m x 2.9m minimum, or you sleep alone. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which is 30cm narrower, the same length, and needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m by our guidance.

How big is the Feather & Black Boulton in a UK super king?
It measures 180 x 200cm, which is 6ft x 6ft 6in. That works out at 90cm each for two people sharing, and it is 30cm wider than the UK king while being exactly the same length.
What room size do I need for the Boulton super king?
We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m for a UK super king, and that is our guidance rather than the manufacturer's. That allows walking space on both sides and room for the door to swing. In a snug room, the UK king needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m by our guidance.
Is the Boulton super king good for couples with a restless partner?
It is one of the better cases for this size. The 10,000 pocket springs move independently, so movement transfers less through the mattress, and the sheer width means most turning happens too far away to notice. If your partner is genuinely restless, distance helps more than any comfort layer.
Will the Boulton in a UK super king fit through my house?
It is a 30cm deep pocket sprung mattress at 180cm wide, so it cannot be rolled or folded like foam. Before ordering, measure your stairs, landing turns and bedroom door swing. Feather & Black's two-man delivery brings it to your room of choice, but the route still has to work.
What bedding fits the Boulton super king?
You'll need super king sheets and a 260 x 220cm duvet. Because the Boulton is 30cm deep, check that your fitted sheets are deep enough as well as wide enough; standard-depth super king sheets may not stretch over the pillow top. Deep-fit sheets solve this cheaply.
