Cover
An in-house woven, chemical free Belgian damask cover, which means the sleeping surface stays breathable rather than trapping heat. It's a natural fabric rather than a synthetic knit.
Comfort fillings (top side)
Layers of Egyptian cotton, white British wool and mohair, responsibly sourced from Harrison Spinks' Yorkshire farm. These fibres wick moisture, which means a drier, more temperature-stable feel through the night.
Micro and Micro HD springs
Springs small enough to behave like a foam, targeting pressure points with accuracy. They sit above the main pocket spring system to soften the initial feel.
Cortec™ Pocket Springs
Individually pocketed springs developed by in-house engineers, which means each spring moves independently and adapts as you change position through the night. This is the supportive core of the mattress.
Micro and Micro HD springs
A second layer of micro springs beneath the pocket spring system, mirroring the layer above. This sandwich construction is what makes the mattress fully double-sided.
Comfort fillings (bottom side)
The same Egyptian cotton, British wool and mohair fillings repeated on the underside. You can flip the mattress and sleep on either face, which helps the fillings settle evenly over time.

- The traditional couples' footprint: At 135 x 190cm, the UK double is the long standing shared size, giving 67.5cm each for two people sharing.
- Room left over for furniture: In a typical UK bedroom the double leaves space for bedside tables on both sides, where a UK king can crowd them out.
- Natural fillings that breathe for two: Wool, cotton and mohair wick moisture, which means two bodies sharing 135cm of width generate less trapped heat overnight.
- Flippable, so shared wear evens out: Two sleepers compress the same spots night after night; identical fillings on both faces mean turning it redistributes that wear.
- A sensible guest room choice: The UK double handles visiting couples in a spare room without demanding the floor space a larger size would.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and your bedroom is a typical UK size, roomy enough for the bed plus a wardrobe and drawers but tight for anything wider. It also fits if you're furnishing a guest room that needs to sleep visiting couples, or you sleep alone and want genuine sprawling space, perhaps with a dog or cat claiming a corner.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner both like space and your room measures at least 2.7m x 2.9m. The UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer, and on a mattress at this price the extra width is a sensible upgrade. We'd recommend the UK king instead.

Is the Salisbury 10750 UK double big enough for a couple?
Yes, for most couples. Two people sharing get 67.5cm of width each, which is the traditional UK standard and works well if you sleep fairly close or your room can't take anything wider. Broad-shouldered pairs or restless sleepers may prefer more space, in which case the UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer.
What room size do I need for a double Salisbury 10750?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm. That allows walking space and, in most rooms, bedside tables on both sides. The mattress itself is 135 x 190cm, so measure your room with wardrobe and drawer doors open before deciding.
Is the UK double Salisbury 10750 hard to get upstairs?
It needs planning. The Salisbury 10750 arrives flat rather than rolled, and a 28cm deep, double-sided sprung mattress at 135cm wide is heavy and awkward on turning staircases in older terraces or tight new build landings. You'll want two people and a measured route from the front door to the bedroom.
Should I choose the Salisbury 10750 in a double or a king?
Choose the UK double if your room is a typical UK size or you want the bed to leave space for other furniture. The UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer, better for couples who value space, but we'd only suggest it for rooms of at least 2.7m x 2.9m.
Does the double Salisbury 10750 suit a guest room?
It's a strong fit. The UK double sleeps visiting couples comfortably, and double bedding is stocked everywhere at every price, so dressing a spare bed is cheap and easy. It's a premium mattress for occasional use, but the flippable design and natural fillings mean it should still be in good shape years on.
