Layer Details
- Cover. An in-house woven, chemical free Belgian damask cover, which means the sleeping surface stays breathable rather than trapping heat. It's a natural fabric rather than a synthetic knit.
- Comfort fillings (top side). Layers of Egyptian cotton, white British wool and mohair, responsibly sourced from Harrison Spinks' Yorkshire farm. These fibres wick moisture, which means a drier, more temperature-stable feel through the night.
- Micro and Micro HD springs. Springs small enough to behave like a foam, targeting pressure points with accuracy. They sit above the main pocket spring system to soften the initial feel.
- Cortec™ Pocket Springs. Individually pocketed springs developed by in-house engineers, which means each spring moves independently and adapts as you change position through the night. This is the supportive core of the mattress.
- Micro and Micro HD springs. A second layer of micro springs beneath the pocket spring system, mirroring the layer above. This sandwich construction is what makes the mattress fully double-sided.
- Comfort fillings (bottom side). The same Egyptian cotton, British wool and mohair fillings repeated on the underside. You can flip the mattress and sleep on either face, which helps the fillings settle evenly over time.

- Real space for one: At 120cm across, the UK small double is 30cm wider than the UK single, so a solo sleeper can spread out without moving to a bigger room.
- Fits where a double won't: It's 15cm narrower than the UK double, which can be the difference between a comfortable walkway and squeezing past the footboard every morning.
- Full spring count, smaller footprint: You get the same Cortec pocket springs and micro spring layers as the larger sizes, so the compact width costs you nothing in support.
- Natural fillings that breathe: Egyptian cotton, British wool and mohair wick moisture, useful in a small or loft room where air doesn't circulate as freely.
- Easier to flip than the bigger sizes: This is a double-sided mattress you'll turn regularly, and the UK small double is the most manageable size for that job short of the UK single.
- Copes with the occasional guest: Two adults can share for a weekend stay, and the medium firm pocket sprung support holds up to the extra weight better than a soft foam would.
This size suits you if...
You sleep alone most nights, have outgrown a UK single and want space to sprawl without giving the room over to the bed. Or your bedroom, box room or loft conversion simply won't take a 135cm frame with walking space left over. It also suits a guest room where couples stay occasionally, since the double-sided build will last years of light use.
Consider another size if...
You share the bed every night, because 120cm is snug for two adults long term. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which is 15cm wider and needs a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

How big is the Harrison Spinks Salisbury 10750 in a UK small double?
It measures 120 x 190cm, which is 4ft x 6ft 3in. That's 30cm wider than the UK single and 15cm narrower than the UK double, with the same 190cm length as both. The 28cm depth is unchanged across sizes, so allow for that when buying fitted sheets.
Can a couple sleep on the small double Salisbury 10750 every night?
For occasional nights, yes: the pocket springs move independently, so a sharing guest won't disturb their partner much. As a permanent bed for two, 120cm is tight, and most couples would be happier on the UK double or UK king. For a guest room seeing weekend use, it's a sensible choice.
Will the small double Salisbury 10750 fit in a box room or loft conversion?
We suggest a room of at least 2.4m x 2.8m so you can walk around the bed and open drawers. In a loft, check the head height where the mattress will sit, and remember it arrives flat rather than rolled, so measure the stairs and door openings before ordering.
Is the Salisbury 10750 hard to get upstairs in this size?
It arrives flat, and a 28cm double-sided sprung mattress is heavy, so plan for two people even at this size. The upside is that the UK small double is lighter and easier to angle round landings than the UK king or UK super king, which helps in older houses with narrow stairs.
What bedding do I need for this size of the Salisbury 10750?
You need small double, or 4ft, fitted sheets, and given the 28cm depth, look for deep-fitted versions. A standard double duvet works fine on this width. 4ft is a standard UK size, so frames and bedding are easy to find, though the range is slimmer than for the UK double.
