Layer Details
Stretch Knit Fabric
A soft, pliable cover that lets the fillings beneath contour to your body shape. You feel the comfort layers working rather than a stiff barrier between you and them.
Quilted Finish
The outer fabric is stitched directly to the surface fillings. This keeps everything in place, which means a flat, even sleeping surface without the fillings shifting about.
White Fibre Fillings
A lightweight, high-loft material that holds its shape over time. It's hypoallergenic too, a helpful point if you're prone to allergies.
High-density advanced foam comfort layers
A reflex foam layer designed to conform to your body by spreading your weight evenly. In practice that means reduced pressure points where you sink in most, typically hips and shoulders.
Open Coil Springs
Rows of hourglass-shaped springs joined at top and bottom by helical wires, forming one interconnected unit. This construction is hardwearing, though the connected springs mean you'll notice a partner's movement more than you would with pocket springs.
Layer details from archerssleepcentre.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Real space for two: The UK king is 15cm wider than the UK double, which means each of you gets room to shift position without nudging the other awake.
- Length for taller sleepers: At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, a genuine relief if one of you is approaching six foot.
- Distance softens the springs' one weakness: Open coils do transfer movement, but with 75cm each the extra separation means an early alarm on one side disturbs the other less.
- A big size without a big price bracket: The Edmonton sits at the affordable end of the market, so moving up to a UK king costs less here than with most pocket sprung rivals.
- Boxed delivery suits a king: A vacuum-packed roll fits round stairwell corners and through door frames, exactly where a rigid 150cm-wide mattress tends to get stuck.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and the two of you have outgrown a double, you or your partner keep different hours and want enough distance that the early riser slips out without waking the other, or one of you is tall enough that a standard 190cm mattress leaves feet hanging over the end.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest as a minimum for a king. In that case we'd recommend the UK double instead, which keeps the same medium feel in a footprint most rooms can take.

Is the Highgrove Edmonton in a UK king good for couples?
Yes, with one caveat. The interconnected open coil springs transfer movement more than pocket springs, so a restless partner is more noticeable. The UK king helps here: at 75cm each for two people sharing, the extra separation reduces how much of that movement actually reaches you compared with a smaller size.
Will a UK king Edmonton fit in my bedroom?
The mattress itself measures 150 x 200cm, or 5ft x 6ft 6in. For the room, we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m so you can open wardrobe doors and walk round both sides. Newer master bedrooms can be tighter than they look once fitted furniture goes in, so measure before ordering.
Is the UK king Edmonton long enough for someone over six foot?
It's the better bet in this range. The UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, and at 200cm it comfortably accommodates most people around the six foot mark. If length is your main frustration with your current mattress, this size fixes it without changing to a different model.
Does Highgrove make the Edmonton in anything bigger than a king?
No. The Edmonton runs from small single up to king, so the UK king is the largest you can buy. A UK super king would be 30cm wider at the same length, but you'd need a different mattress entirely to get one, so this is the top of the Edmonton range.
