Memory foam top layer
A 2 cm layer of Neuform memory foam. It gives gentle contouring that eases pressure on your shoulders, hips and joints, without making the mattress feel soft.
Ecofoam base layer
A 13 cm base of high density ecofoam, made from recycled, re-engineered foam. It provides the firm, steady support that defines how this mattress feels.

Key benefits
- Fits a typical main bedroom: We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m, so most UK bedrooms can take a UK double and still fit a bedside table on each side.
- The same firm support on both sides: The 13cm ecofoam base gives each sleeper a flat, steady surface, which suits a couple who both sleep mainly on their backs.
- Easy bedding: Double sheets and a 200 x 200cm double duvet fit, so you can use bedding you already own or pick it up almost anywhere.
- Sensible for a guest room: A visiting couple can share a UK double without you giving up the extra footprint a UK king needs, which is 15cm wider and 10cm longer.
- Space for a solo sleeper: If you sleep alone, the 135cm width leaves room to stretch out, even with a dog or cat settled in one corner.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed with a partner and your bedroom meets the 2.6m x 2.8m we suggest as a minimum, you're kitting out a guest room for visiting couples, or you sleep alone on your back and want a firm surface with space to spread out.
Consider another size if...
You're both tall or broad-shouldered and 67.5cm each would feel cramped. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which gives 75cm each; we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king.

FAQ's
What size room do I need for a UK double Komfi Unity Visco Ortho?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm. That gives you space to walk round both sides and fit a bedside table each, which matters if you share. In a smaller second bedroom that also needs a wardrobe and drawers, measure carefully before you buy.
Is a UK double big enough for two people sharing?
A UK double gives 67.5cm each for two sharing. On a firm mattress like this one, you lie on the surface rather than sinking into it, which suits many couples. If you'd both like more room, the UK king gives 75cm each, but needs a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m.
What are the Komfi Unity Visco Ortho double dimensions in feet?
The UK double measures 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in, which is 135 x 190cm, and the mattress is 15cm deep. Standard double sheets fit it, as does a 200 x 200cm double duvet.
Should I get a UK double or a UK small double Komfi Unity Visco Ortho?
The UK double is 15cm wider than the UK small double, and both are the same length. For a couple, that extra width makes sharing easier. A solo sleeper in a tight room may manage with the UK small double, which needs at least 2.4m x 2.8m, against 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double.
Is the Komfi Unity Visco Ortho double good for a guest room?
It can be, if your guests are happy on a firm surface. A visiting couple gets 67.5cm each, which is fine for a few nights, and the removable, washable cover is easy to freshen up between visits. Side sleepers may want more cushioning than the 2cm memory foam layer gives.
