Layer Details
- Top Layer. A soft pillow-top layer of plush filling, which means extra cushioning the moment you lie down. It gives the mattress its sink-in, upholstered feel.
- Coolgel. A 3cm layer of coolgel foam that conforms to your body for a personalised feel. It also helps regulate temperature, useful if you tend to overheat at night.
- Soft Foam. 2cm of soft foam sits beneath the coolgel, adding a gentle cushion. It smooths the transition between the comfort layers and the springs below.
- Pocket Springs. 800 pocket springs move independently to follow your body's shape, supporting you where you need it most. This also helps prevent the roll-together effect if you share the bed.
- Mini Springs. An additional 1,200 mini pocket springs sit alongside the main springs for finer, more responsive support. Together the two layers make up the 2,000-spring total.
- Base. A non-slip base gives the mattress additional stability. It helps keep everything in place on your bed frame.

- Room left for furniture: At 135 x 190cm, the UK double usually leaves space for a wardrobe and drawers in a first flat's main bedroom, where a UK king would crowd everything else out.
- Less disturbance in a narrower bed: The 800 pocket springs move independently, which means a partner turning over at 67.5cm away is less likely to tip you towards the middle.
- Cooler when you're sharing closely: Two bodies in a UK double build up warmth, and the coolgel foam layer is designed to draw some of that heat away from the surface.
- Easy bedding for guest rooms: Visiting couples get a proper shared bed, and double sheets plus a 200 x 200cm double duvet are simple to find at any budget.
- Space for a pet at your feet: If you sleep alone, the UK double is 45cm wider than the UK single, enough for a dog or cat to claim a corner without pushing you to the edge.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed with a partner and want a softer, cushioned feel in a bedroom of around 2.6m x 2.8m or more, you're furnishing a spare room where visiting couples stay, or you sleep alone and like room to stretch out with a pet beside you.
Consider another size if...
You're a couple who both sprawl, or one of you is tall and finds 190cm too short. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which is 10cm longer, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.

Is the SleepSoul Heaven 2000 UK double wide enough for a couple?
It gives 67.5cm each for two people sharing. That suits couples who sleep close or fairly still. The independent pocket springs help limit the roll-together effect, although the soft pillow-top means you'll sink a little, so restless sleepers may still feel each other move.
How much smaller is the Heaven 2000 double than the Heaven 2000 king?
The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king, which works out as 7.5cm less each for two sharing. The UK king gives 75cm each, but we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it, against 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double.
What is the SleepSoul Heaven 2000 UK double in feet and inches?
The UK double measures 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in, or 135 x 190cm. That matches a standard UK double bed frame, so check your frame is a UK double rather than an EU size before ordering.
Can I fit bedside tables either side of a UK double Heaven 2000?
In most rooms, yes. We suggest allowing at least 2.6m x 2.8m for a UK double, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm if you want bedside tables on both sides and space to walk round. Measure from the walls, leaving room for doors and wardrobes to open.
Should one person buy the Heaven 2000 in a UK double or a UK single?
If your room allows it, the UK double is 45cm wider than the UK single and the same length, which gives you room to turn, read or share with a pet. The UK single suits smaller rooms: we suggest at least 2.1m x 2.8m for it.
