Layer Details
- Luxurious comfort quilting. A quilted top layer that adds a soft, cushioned surface where your body first meets the mattress. It gives the sleeping surface a slightly plumper feel than a plain cover would.
- Memory Foam. A 1cm layer of memory foam that acts as a transition layer, designed for what SleepSoul calls the perfect sink with minimised movement. Being thin, it offers a gentle hint of contouring rather than the deep hug of thicker memory foam mattresses.
- Foam. A 10cm foam base that provides deep comfort through consistent weight distribution. This layer does most of the supportive work, spreading your weight evenly across the mattress.

- Room for two, in a room for two: At 135 x 190cm, this UK double gives each of you 67.5cm, which means a visiting couple can share comfortably without the bed swallowing a modest spare room.
- Leaves space for the rest of the furniture: We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m, so in a typical second bedroom you can usually keep a wardrobe and a chest of drawers alongside it.
- Space for a bedside table each side: If your room is around 3m x 3m, the comfortable norm we suggest, both guests get a bedside table and a clear path to their side of the bed.
- A slim profile that suits occasional use: The 10.5cm depth keeps the bed low and light, although it feels best for guests staying a few nights rather than two adults sleeping on it every night.
- Easy to dress on a tight budget: Standard double sheets and a 200 x 200cm double duvet fit this size, so kitting out a spare room needs no specialist bedding.
This size suits you if...
You're setting up a spare room where couples come to stay for a few nights, or you're furnishing a first home all at once and need a shared bed that leaves money for everything else. It also suits a solo sleeper who wants room to stretch out, or who shares the bed with a dog or cat.
Consider another size if...
You sleep alone in a compact room smaller than our suggested 2.6m x 2.8m. We'd recommend the UK single instead, for which we suggest at least 2.1m x 2.8m.

Is the SleepSoul Nimbus UK double good for a guest room?
For couples staying a few nights, yes. The UK double gives each guest 67.5cm, and the medium feel should suit most sleeping positions. The slim 10.5cm build fits occasional stays, which is exactly how most guest rooms are used. For long visits from heavier guests, a deeper mattress would feel more supportive.
Will a SleepSoul Nimbus double fit in a small second bedroom?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for a UK double, with around 3m x 3m giving you comfortable room to move. At that size you can usually fit a wardrobe and drawers too. If your room is smaller, the UK single of the Nimbus needs less floor space: we suggest at least 2.1m x 2.8m.
Can two adults sleep on the Nimbus double every night?
You can, although it isn't where the Nimbus performs best. Each of you gets 67.5cm, which is fine for most couples, but at 10.5cm deep the mattress is slim, and heavier adults sharing night after night may feel the base more than they'd like. It is better suited to guest or budget use.
SleepSoul Nimbus single or double for one person with a pet?
The UK double is 45cm wider than the UK single, and the two sizes are the same length. That extra width gives a dog or cat a corner of its own without pushing you towards the edge. If your pet sleeps elsewhere and the room is tight, the UK single will do the job.
Does the SleepSoul Nimbus come bigger than a UK double?
No. The Nimbus is made in a UK single and a UK double only, so the UK double is the largest option. If you and a partner want more space each, a UK king gives 75cm per person, but you would need to look at a different mattress for that.
