- Wool protector pad. A wool protector pad sits at the surface for extra comfort. It adds a soft, breathable first point of contact before you reach the fillings beneath.
- Natural fillings. All natural fillings, including Platinum Certified British fleece wool and cotton. Wool regulates temperature and wicks moisture, which means a drier, more even sleeping climate through the night.
- Springs. Six-coil vanadium steel springs, hand nested in calico, with 1,254 in the King size. Nesting the springs in calico pockets lets each one compress independently, so support follows the curve of your body.
Layer details from furniturevillage.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Space of your own: At 150 x 200cm, the UK king gives each of you 75cm, which means 7.5cm more each than the UK double and fewer knees and elbows meeting overnight.
- Calmer early starts: The springs are hand nested in calico, so when one of you gets up hours before the other, the movement stays largely on their side of the bed.
- Room for a tall partner: The UK king is 200cm (6ft 6in) long, 10cm longer than the UK double, so someone over six foot is less likely to find their feet at the edge.
- 1,254 springs across the surface: Vispring fits 1,254 six-coil vanadium steel springs in the UK king, which means each side responds to its own sleeper rather than dipping as one.
- Cooler with two sharing: Two bodies give off more heat than one, and the wool fillings draw moisture away, which means a slightly drier bed for both of you through the night.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and keep bumping into each other on a UK double, one of you is tall enough to feel short-changed on length, or your working hours differ and you want to get up without waking your partner.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m, or you sleep alone. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Will I feel my partner move on the Vispring Traditional Soft in a UK king?
Less than on most shared beds. Each spring sits in its own calico pocket and compresses on its own, and the UK king gives you 75cm each, so there is a little more distance between you. Across a soft tension, a heavier partner can create a slight dip near the middle, so couples with very different weights should bear that in mind.
Is the UK king Vispring Traditional Soft long enough for someone over 6ft?
For most tall sleepers, yes. The UK king is 200cm, or 6ft 6in, long, which is 10cm longer than the UK double. If one of you has always slept with feet hanging off the end, this extra length may matter more to you than the added width.
Should we get the Vispring Traditional Soft in a UK king or UK super king?
The UK super king gives 90cm each, so the UK king gives 15cm less each at the same length. If you sprawl, or a dog shares the bed, the UK super king may suit you better, but we suggest at least 3m x 2.9m for it, against at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king.
Is a UK king soft mattress big enough during pregnancy?
It usually helps. With 75cm each, there is room for a support pillow without pushing your partner towards the edge, and the soft tension lets hips and shoulders sink in when you lie on your side. Frequent turning and getting up at night is less likely to disturb the other person, as the springs move independently.
Will a Vispring UK king fit in a new build main bedroom?
Measure after the wardrobes are in, because fitted furniture often makes these rooms smaller than the floor plan suggests. We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, with 3.2m x 3.2m comfortable. If you fall short, the UK double needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.
