- Sleep surface. A quilted sleep surface wrapped in soft-touch damask fabric, machine stitched for longevity. This is the traditional, breathable finish you'd expect from a sprung mattress rather than a knitted foam-style cover.
- Comfort layer. British wool and mohair sit beneath the surface, regulating temperature and wicking away moisture. In practice that means a drier, cooler feel than synthetic fillings, which is welcome if you tend to overheat.
- Support layer. A layer of Platinum 3D polyester that is fully recyclable at the end of the mattress's life. It adds structure between the fillings and the springs while keeping disposal a little greener.
- Spring system. Individually wrapped pocket springs paired with micro pocket springs that react to the slightest movement. Because each spring moves independently, you're less likely to feel a partner shifting on the other side of the bed.

Is a double Walters mattress big enough for two adults?
It works, with a caveat. At 67.5cm each for two people sharing, the UK double is the traditional couples' size, and the Walters' independently moving pocket springs reduce the disturbance you feel when a partner shifts. If either of you sleeps sprawled, or you're both broad, the extra width of the UK king is the safer buy.
Will the Walters double fit in a small bedroom?
