- Cover. A quality Belgian damask fabric with a traditional hand tufting finish. The tufting, done with nylon tapes and cotton tufts on both sides, holds the fillings in place and adds to the firm feel.
- Fillings. White fibre fillings, a lightweight, high loft material that retains its shape well. It is hypo-allergenic, which means fewer irritants for allergy-prone sleepers.
- Spring System. Open coil springs set out in rows from head to toe, each row joined by a spiral helical wire. This gives a connected, traditional support feel rather than the independent movement of pocket springs.
- Border. A thick rod-edge wire runs around the perimeter springs to reinforce the border. In practice that means better edge support when sitting on the side of the bed.

- Space that offsets motion transfer: Open coil beds pass movement across the surface, but at 90cm each a fidgeting partner is far enough away to matter much less.
- Room for night-time visitors: When a child pads in at 3am, a 6ft-wide firm surface means everyone keeps a workable share without anyone clinging to the edge.
- Edges you can actually use: The rod-edge wire around the border keeps the perimeter supportive, useful when the whole width is in use and someone ends up sleeping near the side.
- Firm support across the full width: The hand tufted finish holds the white fibre fillings in place on both sides, so the feel stays consistent from one edge of 180cm to the other.
- A big bed at a budget price: Super kings usually carry a hefty premium, and this traditional open coil design keeps the cost down where pocket sprung rivals climb sharply.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the maximum standard UK size, especially if one of you is restless, since space is the best remedy for the motion an open coil unit transmits. It also suits families where children or a large dog regularly join you, and anyone with a master bedroom of at least 3m x 2.9m, which is the minimum we suggest for this size.
Consider another size if...
Your room is under our suggested 3m x 2.9m minimum, or your stairs and landing have tight turns, since a rigid open coil unit this size cannot bend round corners. We'd recommend the UK king instead: 30cm narrower, the same 200cm length.

Will a super king open coil mattress fit up my stairs?
This is the honest risk with this mattress in a UK super king. The open coil spring unit is rigid and cannot be folded or flexed round a tight landing, unlike foam. Measure your stairwell, door swings and any turns before ordering. If access is marginal, the UK king of the same mattress is 30cm narrower and easier to manoeuvre.
Is the Highgrove Solar Luxury Dream super king good for couples?
Yes, with one caveat. Open coil springs are connected, so you feel more of a partner's movement than on pocket springs. The super king's 90cm each for two people sharing softens that considerably, because most disturbance fades with distance. If your partner is very restless, this size is the right one to pick within this mattress's range.
How heavy is a super king mattress to flip?
Highgrove doesn't publish a weight for this size, but a 180 x 200cm double-sided mattress is a two-person job to turn. Since the design needs regular flipping to even out wear, factor that in. If routine turning worries you, the UK king is a more manageable size of the same mattress, though still awkward alone.
What room size do I need for this super king?
We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m, with around 3.5m x 3.2m feeling comfortable once you add bedside tables on both sides and space to walk round. In a smaller master bedroom a super king can dominate the room; the UK king frees up 30cm of width while keeping the same 200cm length.
Is a super king worth it over a king for this mattress?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two are the same length. On this mattress the extra width earns more than usual, because it puts distance between you and a partner's movement on the connected open coil springs. If children or pets join you regularly, that 30cm is the difference between comfortable and cramped.
