- Cover. A stretch knit fabric with a quilted finish. This gives the sleep surface a soft, slightly cushioned top layer against the firm build beneath.
- Fillings. White fibre fillings, a lightweight, high loft material that holds its shape over time. They are also hypo-allergenic, which helps if you're prone to allergies.
- Foam Core. A reflex foam core that conforms to your body by distributing weight evenly. In practice this means fewer pressure points at your hips and shoulders.
- Springs. Rows of hourglass shaped springs joined top and bottom by spiral helical wires, forming an interconnected open coil system. Expect a traditional, springy firm feel rather than isolated, independent support.

- Space softens the open coil trade-off: Open coil springs transmit more movement than pocket springs, but at 90cm each for two people sharing, a restless partner is simply further away.
- Room for the whole household: When children wander in at 3am or a large dog treats the bed as home, 180cm of width means everyone keeps a workable share.
- Firm support across a big surface: The reflex foam core distributes weight evenly over the full 180 x 200cm, which means consistent support wherever you end up sleeping.
- A big bed without a big price: Super king mattresses can be a serious outlay; the Vancouver's straightforward open coil build keeps this one within reach for a first large bed.
- Boxed delivery helps at this size: A rigid 6ft x 6ft 6in mattress is awkward on a landing turn, so arriving vacuum-packed and rolled makes getting it upstairs far simpler.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed most nights and one of you moves around a lot, since extra distance does more for undisturbed sleep here than any comfort layer could. It also suits you if children or pets routinely join you, or if you have a large master bedroom where a UK king would look a little lost against the wall.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m, or you'd struggle to walk around the bed comfortably. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which gives up 30cm of width but fits far more rooms.

Is the Highgrove Vancouver super king big enough for a family?
For most, yes. At 180 x 200cm it allows 90cm each for two people sharing, so a child climbing in at night doesn't push anyone to the edge. The firm surface also stays supportive at the sides rather than tipping a small visitor into the middle. Larger families may still find mornings cosy.
Will I feel my partner moving on the super king Vancouver?
The Vancouver uses interconnected open coil springs, so some movement transfer is built in. The super king is the size that best offsets it: with 90cm each for two people sharing, a partner turning over happens at a distance. Couples who are very sensitive to motion may still prefer pocket springs, but width helps considerably.
What size room do I need for the Highgrove Vancouver super king?
We suggest a room of at least 3m x 2.9m, and something nearer 3.5m x 3.2m feels more comfortable, leaving space to walk round both sides and open drawers. In a loft conversion, check the sloping ceiling too, as it often decides which wall a bed this size can sit against.
Can I get the super king Vancouver up a narrow staircase?
More easily than you might expect. It arrives vacuum-packed and rolled in a box, so you carry a compact cylinder upstairs rather than turning a rigid 6ft x 6ft 6in mattress around a landing. Do measure your door swing and any tight turns for the bed frame, though, which won't arrive rolled.
Is the super king Vancouver much bigger than the king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK King, with both sharing the same 200cm length. That extra width is the difference between sleeping close by necessity and each having proper room, which matters more on this mattress than most, since open coil springs pass on more of a partner's movement.
